The episode of Tokyo Esp started to get closer to the first episode of the series. It means sooner or later the last character that introduced during the first episode, Ozora Ayumu, will make an appearance to complete the series main cast. Following last week event, Ryotaro jumped and caught the passed out Rinka, and they made it to the ground. The falling tanker dropped near the Tokyo tower creating catastrophe to its surrounding area. When Rinka woke up, he realized the wounded Kyotaro and Kobushi lying in the floor. Kyotaro asked her to save Kobushi first before he passed out due to the amount of blood loss that he suffered. I knew Rinka would listen to Kyotaro and sent Kobushi to the medic right away but to my surprise, Minami appeared suddenly with an intention of taking Kyotaro. Henceforth, Minami threatened Rinka whether she would choose to take Kyotaro by force or to save a buried victims of the debris caused by the Tanker fall, Rinka had no other choice but save the civilians and left Minami who took Kyotaro away.
LEVEL UP now he can attract stone ^-^d

Rinka and his father tried their best to save the civilians who got stuck in the debris, and things became a rather gloomy as not all of them were safe. The episode tried to give more feel to the audience by displaying the victims of the terrorist attacks like when Rinka decided to enter the debris to find survivors. Her vision of an elderly couple corpse from the debris made her cried and felt helplessness because she was not strong enough to prevent the calamity. Well, If I have to be honest, the impact of the feels trip inside this episode was not strong enough to make me sad.
Nom,nom,nom, what a delicious hair

What I found interesting from this episode was the new character called Mr Roshi. If you watched Dragonball, you must at least known Goku famous lecherous teacher Kameshenin or some whould say master Roshi (Even the name was same maybe for the Dbz reference). The master Roshi that we saw in Tokyo Esp was more or less similar to the Dragonball's Roshi or at least in his perverted nature for beautiful woman. He did not show his face because he wore a panda suit but from his voice, it was clear that he was an older man. In addition, he was extremely lecherous to the point that he touched Rinka's boob not only once but twice. I thought, the purpose for adding Mr Roshi was more or less to introduce Ayumu as the last of the main characters as well as to add additional training part to fill the time slot before the main battle with the terrorist Esper started.
Geh even as a guy I don't find this joke funny (I am bored with boobs gag; stop it)

The episode did not entertain me as much as the last episode as it deal mainly with Rinka and his father trainings as well as to show us about Rinka's decision to stand againsts the terrorist attack. I am partly bored with this episode just after a very tense and interesting last episode not to mention that I felt as if the episode act more like a filler episode. Yet, you might disagree as the premise for the following episode will be good and I will cross my finger to see what Kadokawa Shoten have in store for us.

Mr Roshi reincarnated; Tokyo Esp episode 6 impression

The latest episode of Tokyo Ghoul was literally a bit let down from my previous expectation. To put it simply, today episode did not give a strong impression for me. In reality, the episode only focus the background story for Amon, one of the two inspectors who apparently have more humane side than his partner Mado. In addition, the episode started Tohka first rampage to the Dove which unfortunately only make her seems like the bad guy as the person who she killed, Kusaba, apparently have no relation to Mrs Ryoko's murder although he did work for the GCC. Unfortunately, he was working for the internal part of the organization and unlike the more sadistic Mado, he was a normal and likable guy.
Sometimes the world was just too cruel for a kind person like her

Following last week event, the two inspectors surrounded Mrs Ryoko, Hinami's mother, and the first thing that shocked her was Mado's weapon as it was made from the remain of her husband.  In the beginning, I thought she would go berserk and attack both of the inspectors for killing her husband. Alas, she was a kind of ghoul who despised attacking human and the only thing she could do was crying. Kaneki and Hinami, who watched in the corner, could not do anything when Mado executed her and Kaneki could only close Hinami eyes so she did not witness the image of her mother's head being separated from her body. As gruesome as I depict the event, I ensure you that Tokyo Ghoul tried it best not to show frightening images for it audiences so you could relax and watch the episode. I thought that Tokyo Ghoul would make the dead of Mrs Ryoko more dramatic but my prediction did not really happen in this episode, which made me a bit disappointed.
Bugs bunny run

When Touka heard about the incident she went totally mad to the Doves and she asked the help from Anteiku members to revenge Hinami's mother. However, Mr Yoshimura prohibited her to exact the revenge since Anteiku had a rule that they will not attack the inspectors as they were trying to co-exist with human and attacking the doves meant that they broke the rule and might endanger the existence of other passive ghouls. Yet, Touka could not accept the condition and she planned to exact her revenge even if that mean she had to give up her position in Anteiku.
Nobody takes eating seriously like him anymore -_-

The scene changed to Amon and his subordinates who had lunch together. Along with their conversation, some of Amon's past was explained like how he attend the academy and how he told Kusaba about the death of his friend. Afterward, they split way and it was the time when the battle really start. Tohka eliminated Kusaba instantly and she almost killed the other person, Nakajima, until Amon came and saved him. Tohka almost killed Amon, who was weaponless, when Mado came to the scene and battle Tohka. Afterward, they duke it out in a one and one battle with Mado reigning superior due to his more experience in battling ghoul. With no other option, Tohka fled the scene.
You are even more scary than the Ghouls themselves what are you?? ET

Mr Yoshimuro had no other option but threw Tohka out from Anteiku due to her disobedience. She had her own reason to revenge Mrs Ryoko death though; because unlike her, Mrs Ryoko never hurt anyone and it made her angry that the society stripped the ghouls right to live and coexist with normal human. In the last part of the episode, Tohka dragged Kaneki with her to help her battling the inspectors while Amon and Nakajima talked about Kusaba. Tohka tried to bait Mado using the phone call and in another place, Kaneki received and wore the mask that Uta made for him. Ok, this episode might not blow my emotional heart like usual. However, the premise for the next episode was higher (I hope next episode will not disappoint me though)

The dead was fast but unfortunaly less emotional than what I hoped for; Tokyo Ghoul episode 7 Impression

I think it was time for Haikyuu!! to break a little and after two intense matches behind, the episode focused on the team preparation to fight Aoba Johsai. They did defeat Aoba during their practice match. However, they only did that because the main setter, Oikawa played in the last moment of practice. In addition, they did not show their standard formation for playing in the international match. Frankly, I accidentally read the outcome of the battle between Aoba and Karasuno from a Haikyu!! manga readers who spoke about the match in an anime forum. Nevertheless, I would not spill the outcome as it might spoil your anticipation regarding to the winner of the match.
The killing tension omg :D

Speaking about the episode, this episode genuinely had a smart joke implemented in it; especially in the part where the Karasuno's team watched the local television news regarding to the volleyball preliminary matches.  For example, the local television showed the favorite team result. It seems that the local television only took interest on Aoba Johsai due to Oikawa's good look and popularity. The funniest moment was when the TV wanted to show the team of Karasuno, instead of displaying the team Karasuno played a match against Dateko, it showed Oikawa instead who later on commenting about his lack of interest in battling Karasuno. The team's reaction was splendid as they were pouting over the fact that even local television did not take any interest in their team let alone the girls XD.
when he done this pose, his deductive thinking was raised by 60 %

I admitted that high class player like Oikawa must have a special traits that made him different with the other players. Under his laid back personality, he had a winning attitudes and a serious disposition that only few people could understand. He played a mind wars against Karasuno as if he took them easily while in reality, he took the video of their match against Dateko. Before the main match, he watched the Karasuno's previous game while calculating about the team strengths and weaknesses intensively.
You got owned bad

The episode followed with both Karasuno and Aoba Johsai prepared for the match. Like usual, Oikawa showed his laid back comments and provoked some of his team members along the way. However, before the match he said one words that completely changed the team's atmosphere “ I'll believe in all of you”. Just like any fierce warlord, his charisma and his word told the viewer that when he played a match, he would not pull any jokes and he would completely put his trusts to his peers. This quality was obviously the thing that Karasuno high still lacking off. While technically getting better after Ukai taught the team, compared to the more mature Aoba Johsai, the Karasuno still lacked the spirit of cooperation and trusts between the team members.
I just need a sloooooow mowwwwwtion

Oikawa made a strong jab for the Karasuno with his dump technique. Instead of sending the ball to the spiker, he jumped and performed a normal spike to send the ball down to the opponents area. He even taunt Karasuno that he might replay the same technique in order to shake their motivation. Then, he fake another jump spike and turned it into a pass to another member, which make the Aoba Johsai led the game by two points. However, the best stunt was made by Kageyama. In order to taunt Oikawa, he also performed the same trick that Oikawa made in the beginning. He performed a quick dump attack when most of the Karasuno's spiker were preparing to take the shot. In addition, he even mimicked Oikawa's statement about using the same trick again, which made the later felt infuriated.

Honestly, this episode was a good episode although it was not as intense as the previous episodes. In fact, I considered this episode as a special tribute episode for Oikawa, Aoba Johsai's charismatic setter and Kageyama former teacher. Watching this episode, we could see what kind of person Oikawa was as his laid back personalities hide a very dedicated volleyball players who very much hate losing. The next episode will take the battle in a more serious tone and right now Aoba Johsai led the game by one point .

Karasuno?? what team is that?? Haikyuu!! episode 19 impression

This writing piece will give plenty information to you regarding to Tokyo Esp episode 5. So, if you want to really enjoyed watching the episode without spoiler, I recommend you turn your back now and watch the episode. If you already watch it and want to hear my opinion regarding the episode, please continue.

Tokyo Esp once again told us directly about any mysteries that we have from the previous episode. I honestly thanked the director for not giving us so many headaches to discover the nature of the esp power as well as the identity of the professor. Tokyo Esp, while having supra natural theme, keeps the story as simple as possible and mysteries related to the events in Tokyo Esp got explained as fast as possible made the actions have adequate time within the limited air time.
Who are you anyway.. David Copperfield??

In the last episode, the professor appeared in front of Rinka and Murasaki. Without spending too much time for introductions he  explained that the glowing fish was actually the aura that comes out from a legendary stone tablet that he found during his previous research. In human eyes, the aura from the stone tablet looked like glowing fishes and any person who absorbed them would get their innate power born. In addition,  the professor told them that he was the person responsible for releasing the Esp power in the Tokyo during the last three months. After the professor left, Kyotaro Azuma told them directly that he was Hokusai Azuma, the person who raised him and Minami . So he was Kyotaro step father and honestly I already felt it before so it did not surprise me. From now on, I will call Azuma as Kyotaro to avoid confusion with Hokusai due to their similarity in their last name.
It does not sound like Tokyo Esp without skull crushing kick

We got another Kyotaro's back story again with his first meeting with Minami and how she acted cold when they met for the first time. Then the event explained that Kyotaro started to earn her trust with his bravado to stand against his seniors, whose intended to do perverted thing to her. Kyotaro started to get closer with his step sister and this event marked the complicated relationship within the main characters as Rinka also started to develop some feeling to him.
I don't like seeing people fight but they were the exception

The episode got another serious development with the Hokusai summoned a giant tanker ship above Tokyo. He announced that they demanded a special Esp zone in the Tokyo and they would not hesitate to use force if necessary. Another revelation happened as he showed his true appearance. Beneath his gentle and bishounen look, lies another face that looks completely like the Titan from SnK. It was quite shocking since his real face did not appear at all during the first episode and the origin of his face became another mystery to the title.
Achievement 197 unlocked "performed Chun li's back flip"

The fighting part of the episode was a cool one. Kobushi and Kyotaro boarded the flying ship tanker and met directly with the Hokusai, Minami, Kozuki (Kobushi's little sister) and two mysterious Espers. As Kobushi tried to disappear and attack Hokusai, Kozuki deflect her punch. She even trapped Kobushi in a box cage using her Esp Magic. They were in the pinch with Kozuki wounded Kobushi and Hokusai rewrite Kyotaro mind so that whenever he and Kobushi transport, he always ended up in front of Hokusai.
Say good night B***h

Rinka who appeared later performed a kick to Minami who used her katana to retaliate. How surprised Minami to find out that Rinka could go through her Katana and gave her the first strike. Although getting the first strike, the more experienced Minami continuously beat Rinka. She dissapeared, Kicked her in the back, performed a fast shoulder throw and completely overwhelmed her. In the end, she even performed a heavy drop kick on the back of Rinka's head leaving her completely passed out. In the last part of the episode, one of the mysterious Espers change the ship's angle making Rinka fell and Kyotaro without considering his left hand still stabbed to Hokusai's sword tore his left hand and threw himself from the ship to catch Rinka
The smiling Titan. I thought Eren finished you off

The episode ended in a big cliffhanger and with how the story went, I have little to no complain to Tokyo Esp's direction. Sure it might not be the most original or unique anime that ever aired. Nevertheless, it's simplicity and plenty of actions made the anime easy to watch and still manages to entertain me.

Finally the episode explain the question that I had from the previous episodes. What is Anteiku? The answer was clearly explained in this episode. Anteiku was the name of the coffee shop that Kaneki and company working. It was the place for Ghouls who live along with human to hang out and blend with the society. The coffee shop that founded by Mr Yoshimura also provided raw human meat for the ghouls who did not hunt for human just like an ordinary fast food restaurant serves hamburger or fried chicken to us.
OK you win he belong to you  RUN

Regarding last week deadly battle between Kaneki, Tohka, and Nishiki against Shu, the episode also concluded the battle although I considered it was a bit anticlimactic. With Tohka absorbing Kaneki's blood, she overpowered Shu in strenghts department. Knowing that Shu would lose the battle, he targeted Kimi as his back up source of power. His plan completely ruined though as Nishiki grabbed his feet while Tohka finished him off . Like usual, the censor for Tokyo Ghoul ruined our viewing pleasure with most of the decapitated part getting blurred with a white line. Back to the main topic; regardless of Tohka determination's to finish Kimi as she witnessed their identity, Kaneki word reached her and she changed her mind afterward. This episode also started the beginning of Nishiki joined Anteiku gang with him working as waitress in order to pay the raw meat that Anteiku provided.
Did you get an amnesia or something? this guy tried to kill you -_-

The person who intimidated Minami's father turned out to be Jason or the S-Rank Ghoul who fought Rize at the beginning of the series. The two inspectors who searched for Jason used Hinami's father to lure him out and afterward a battle ensued between the inspectors and Jason. Jason have stronger physical body than the his opponents but their cooperation and special weapons made them capable of fending off his attack. Just when Jason left the scene; Hinami's father used his last strengths to survive while revealing his ghoulish body. Once again, another sad scene happened as Hinami and her mother reconciled, the inspectors finished her father off even though I considered last week episode had stronger emotion than this one.

Monster Vs Alien Part 2

I have to correct the assumption that I made from my previous post. Hinami was not a half ghoul like Kaneki. She was a full blooded ghoul since both of her parents were ghouls. The revelation happened when the inspector used the odor of Hinami's deceased father to lure her out. Ultimately, Hinami's mother had to show her real ghoulish body in order to protect Hinami. This time another sad scene happened again. Hinami's mother asked her to run away while she kept the inspectors at bay. It was sad and very traumatizing experience for Hinami and I could not help feeling sad for the little girl. For the past two episodes, Tokyo ghoul played with the viewer feeling and I can guess that Hinami's mother sacrifice will add more sad scenes for the next episode.

Not again T-T

In my opinion, last week episode had stronger emotion than this episode. However, I thought that the episode had a decent story and it told us how a mother would sacrifice her life for her children safety no matter if she was a human or a ghoul. Last but not least, the episode left decent impression for me and here I am waiting for another episode while keeping the bucket of tissue nearby.

Today episode was straight to the point with the match took almost the entire air time. In regard to last week initial fight againts Dateko, Karasuno started to gain advantages over the opponent. The “freak quick” proved effective against Dateko, which still recovering their shock from the sudden technique. The episode started with Karasuno gaining the lead and they were at the match point of the first set.
Girls where are you when the bald guy started to cosplay as fairy^-^  Tanaka: WHATTT!!

If you love an episode without too many background information or character development but focused mainly in the volley match, you will definitely love this episode. There was one character who took the spotlight in this episode and he was Azumane Nishina. For your information, Nishina have confidence crisis against dateko because they totally blocked his attack during their previous match.  This episode mainly focused on him tearing apart the fear that he had after losing the ability to score in the previous encounter.
The guy in the middle thought "OMG I can't do anything but gasping"

Both teams kept adding point with the Dateko having a stronger defense while Karasuno patch up the missing points using the “quick freak” formula. If Dateko scored, either via blocking or spiking, Karasuno later on would create a decoy spike to get another point. They kept exchanging blow and the atmosphere turned heated as the game was getting closer to the match point. I must admit that Dateko spirit was admirable. Even if they were at disadvantages they still worked hard to block the spikes. For instance; when Karasuno performed another fake spike, one of the Dateko's member; Kamasaki could reacted to the fake shot by jumping and bending his body to the right to block the real smash. Then Hinata used another of his quick spike and while this time Aone could block the shot, it ricocheted to Dateko's inner net area, which made the Karasuno high obtained their match point.
You got it wrong I am not kicking I am tackling with style
Yeah you are right. I am not smashing either; I am performing shoryuken

The main part of the episode was when Karasuno only need one more point to win the match. At this stage, Aone played as the main blocker while Hinata have to take the formation change that means Karasuno was at their disadvantage position. The one and only person who must make the winning shot was the team's ace Nishina. If they lose the second match, Karasuno might be in disadvantages due to Dateko knowledge to the freak quick formula so It was a very intense moment for Karasuno members. When Aone deflect Nishina's spike, Nishinoya saved the ball using his left foot and sent the ball back to the air. This time Kageyama tossed the ball in the air and Nishina with his overall power send the ball like a guided missile down to Dateko's territory. I was gasping when the Dateko blockers once again threw the ball in the air. It landed just in the net and with fortune goddess smiling to the crows, the ball fell to the Dateko's side and this time around; no Dateko player could reach it. With Karasuno winning the match, the episode made Nishina the star of the game and it helped him regained his confidence as the team's ace

No matter how jerk he was, I could not hate him. He just reminded me of myself :D

I admitted that this episode was a bit of challenge to write. I mean the episode was interesting to watch and the match was tense. However, I found it difficult to find any peculiar events that I can note for writing.  I merely hoping that the battle with Aoba Johsai will have lots of interesting events like new tactics or how the Karasuno could take advantages of their limitation with receiving. Probably a good episode for other viewers but for me I think it could be better

This week episode brings many surprises and WTF moment with a tender closing for the ending part. The episode answered the question that I have from the last episode for example; the reason why Azuma always said Rinka as his heroine. The episode even added more background story involving Azuma past and his relation to Minami; the chick with the double Katanas in the first episode. I considered Tokyo Esp as as simple as its get. It does not portray its characters as mysterious and complicated like other series do. The characters' background was explained one by one with each passing episode and this episode was no exception.

Pew Pew Pew Pew

Following the kidnapping scene involving Murasaki last week, Rinka and Azuma ended up fighting mafia henchmen. While Rinka's wound still not healed due to her fighting with the Phantom thief in the last week episode, she still proved a better fighter for the Mafia. I don't know if using esper magic was considered cheating or not but every time the mafia attack, their weapons always went through her body so she could easily pound them one by one. When they finally reach Murasaki; the Mafia Kingpin broke the wall completely nude (vomit). He was stronger to both Azuma and Rinka since no weapon had any effect to his body until Pengy, the penguin, became angry,  absorbed and ate the glowing fish that entered his body. When Rinka realized that the mafia boss felt pain from her bitting, she asked Azuma to teleport Murasaki away and gave the boss a double skull cracking kick down to the ground.

She was totaly captivated with his beautiful eyes  XD

Talking about the WTF moment was the Phantom thief decision to join Rinka's gang. It turn out that she had a crush to Rinka's father. I mean after all the pain she had given to Rinka and the fight they had gone through, they turned into friend that simple. She even live together along with Rinka's family in the bartender house because their home was completely burned by Merayama.
That Silhouette o_0 is that you Kid Goku??

Okay if you don't like spoiler; I thought you could stop here. Azuma Kyotaro had a foster sister and she was Minami; the katana wielding chick that teleport all the time during the first episode. In Azuma past, a man; after killed his last friend, almost killed Azuma until Minami shot him down. Minami's father, whose identity remained a mystery, took him as a son. In regard to Azuma's role, I don't know about what happen to him during the first episode because he was not seen or appear in person. However, I know that he will play a major rule in making the connection between the character especially for Rinka and Minami.

Tsundere line detected

The episode even explained the reason for Azuma calling Rinka as his heroine. Few months before they obtained  the Esp magic, Rinka saved Azuma from bullies. Even knowing that Azuma was a complete stranger to her, she step in and saved him from them. That event left a deep impression for him and then turned him into a person who wanted to save other.  Ironically, both Azuma and Rinka influenced each other although in different cases. Azuma wanted to help other because of his past and Rinka saved him as a complete stranger while Rinka wanted to help other because Azuma kept pestering her to do so.
Its good to have more people but whose gonna pay for the food? The manager T-T

Murasaki's esper ability was more like a clairvoyant with her seeing a vision of the object that she touched in the past. The first time it activated was when she tried to ate a bacon. She could see the image of a pig being split into two and she was completely frightened with her first experience of Esp magic. Then, after deciding about leaving the house that raised her, her father gave her a ring that belong to her deceased mother. Afterward, we could see the sweet moments of her infant times when her mother was still alive.

There are so many thing worth noting from this episode. The fight between Rinka and the mafia, the revelation of Minami and her relation to Azuma, the bonding between the characters, and even Murasaki's sweet moment with her deceased mother. Thats a lot to say for only one episode and once again I felt very satisfied with Tokyo Esp no nonsensical behavior in treating its audiences
In short, the episode gave a good closure, decent characters background stories, an honest and simple characters' development, and off course the last part of the anime which introduced the villain Esp leader as the professor made me eager to see the next episode.

A strong background story with plenty of events; Tokyo Esp episode 4 Impression

The first thing you saw from the third episode of Tokyo Esp was the Phantom thief escaped from the hospital after punching the good for nothing cops. With revenge on her mind, she intended to beat Rinka to a pulp when some mysterious mafia in suit asked her to lend them her power. The scene then switched to Rinka house with her having breakfast with her father. One thing to note was how her father could control his magic power now so Rinka could get to the school without tying his father now ;). The scene then turn to Rinka's schoolroom where Azuma asked her to have a lunch. It turned out that Azuma wanted Rinka to help him playing hero but the later instantly rejected the invitation.
People will treat you like that because of your eyes ;)

On the other side, the third episode introduced Murasaki, the girl who wore glasses from the first episode, to the character roster. She was the person who actually fed the mysterious flying penguin in odaiba. At that moment, there were three men who intended to capture Peggy, the pinguin, and because of Murasaki's interruption, it managed to fly away only for the men captured it later using a net. After the three men kidnapped both Murasaki and Peggy in their car, Azuma with the help of Rinka saved Murasaki and the penguin from the kidnapper. Rinka went through the car and her sudden intrusion made the car fall from the upper part of highway. Fortunately, Azuma managed to transport the car to the sea just when the car was about to hit three old granny who just happen to stand below the highway. After Rinka helped Azuma escaped from the sea, Azuma commented that Rinka was his hero and once again, we were given a mystery about what was Rinka done in the past
There you go getting all gloomy again

Murasaki took Rinka and Azuma to her place and the moment they entered her place, bunch of mafias welcomed Murasaki. I laughed when knowing that she might be the younger version of Yankumi from Gokusen. Ehem, back to the main topic, the mafia in the beginning of the episode along with the Phantom thief came to Murasaki place and they wanted to negotiate with her Grandfather. Once again, Rinka met with the Phantom thief and their battle continues. This time around, the phantom thief wound Rinka completely using her boxing skills and Rinka's ability to went through matter ended up worthless against another human being. Meanwhile, The Negotiation turned into a shooting carnage because the other mafia intended to take all of Murasaki's grandfather territory and the mafia leader later on revealed that he also possessed unique magic to repel bullets. Just as the mafias fight, one of the mafia leader henchmen teleported Murasaki and Azuma out from the house which lead to the kidnapping of Murasaki.
You will become a good teacher one day Murasaki.

The episode explained to us how Murasaki achieved her magical power with one of the flying fish entered her body while she was being held captive. In addition, the episode told us about the reason why Azuma become a person who obsessed in helping other in need. The small flashback told us that the place where he grown up was full with war and violence and one of his best buddies died as a war victim. He swore himself that he would not let another innocent experience the feeling of loosing life. The episode was closed with Rinka and Azuma prepared themselves to entered the Mafia's headquarter in order to rescue Murasaki. My impression for this episode was a bit mixed. I knew it doesn't make me impressed like the first episode yet as it manages to give us some detail for the first episode character (Murasaki) as well as explaining Rinka's motivation to help people (through her interaction to Azuma).

This episode have a very strong emotional impact on me. The character development today focused in Nishiki; a character that I thought have met his end in the second episode of Tokyo Ghoul. I love an anime that develop their character because it made me feel their emotion and this episode truly made me feel Nishiki's struggle and how he perceived the world that turned him down.
A good luck sign; Toka minds "NOOOOOO"

Just like usual, the episode started with a slow pacing event involving Kaneki visiting Touka's room complete with Touka's friend misunderstanding toward her relationship to Kaneki. The scene changed to Shu whose obsession toward Kaneki turned to the climax. The scary purpled haired ghoul formed another plan to lure Kaneki out. The scene continued to Kaneki who saved Nishiki from Ghouls who planned to cannibalize him. After sending Nishiki to his apartment, Kaneki met Nishiki girlfriend, Kimi who later explained to him the reason why she still loved Nishiki even knowing that he was a ghoul.
Everyone keep defending themselves not even an anime character

If you think Nishiki (the glasses ghoul who wanted to ate Kaneki's friend) as a side character without emotional development, this episode would prove it wrong. It truly made him a star in character's background story. As we watch the episode, we were given his past along with his older sister as orphan. The younger Nishiki was a kind and idealist soul who never enjoyed eating human and his older sister was the one who provided human meat to him. I knew if a kind person pushed beyond his or her limit, s/he might went ashtray and this condition happened to him. The sister that he loved so much was betrayed by her own lover. The human manager who find out about his sister Identity as a ghoul reported the authority and made her sister killed, leaving Nishiki alone. The anger for losing his sister made him threw his hope for humanity and he ended up become a blood thirsty ghoul.
No pervert XD, it will not end like what you think

The episode turned more heated as Shu kidnapped Nishiki's girlfriend; Kimi as a bait to lure Kaneki to his place. Just as Shu beat Kaneki and Nishiki to pulp, Touka entered the scene and assisted them in order to defeat Shu. Again, Nishiki background story about his relationship to Kimi was revealed to us. After the dead of his sister, he accidentally met Kimi while buying a can of coffee. Their meeting developed into a mutual attraction and after a brief moment, Kimi revealed that she had no parents and the only person that she had now was Nishiki. The strongest moment of their relationship was when Nishiki intended to devour Kimi, just after he was mortally wounded by Kaneki, He lost his strengths while attacking Kimi and with the revelation as his ghoulish nature, he feared that she would contact the authority after knowing his secret. Surprisingly, she let him eat a part of her shoulder while explaining that he was the person who saved her from killing herself. I could not stop myself from feeling very emotional after this part and wanted to cried my eyes out.
"Ikiru" T-T so sad I don't think I could love someone like Kimi do

Even with the combined power from two and a half ghouls, Shu still proved too strong for Kaneki and his companion. Just as the episode turned to the climax, Touka and Kaneki combined their power by letting Touka bit him and let his half ghoul power to merge with Touka's full ghoul blood. Too bad the episode was ended in such cliffhanger but I have to admit that the episode was very strong emotionally and I really, really wanted to see the continuation of this episode. Now where is my tissue I needed to swipe the tears of my sullen eyes T_T

Very emotional for a character background story; Tokyo Ghoul episode 5
