Gundam in reconguista episode 9 entitled Megafauna went to south felt like a breather episode after giving us plenty of mobile suits war from the recent episodes. The episode started with Klim Nick and Mick jack boarded the Armorzagan and left the Megafauna back to Ameria. Then, the scene moved to Raraiya usual antic to run for every place and ended up in the bridge while the Director and the ship crews were having conversation. Regarding to Raraiya and Noredo, I felt that they were not given any real character developments lately, which was quite a shame and a disappointment for me. Most of the time I watched as Raraiye keep running and ended up hugging the G-self unit while Noredo would try to catch and calm her. I don't know why the series had not tried to explain about Raraiya real identity yet even though that the series were already at the nine episodes. Also, Noredo Nug started to feel like a background character whose main job was taking care of Raraiya and that's it. Even the other characters from the ship haven't got any defining moment either and they started to feel more like card board characters
They are jealous because their development time had diminished greatly

The Director and the ship crew mentioned that there were incoming threats from the space and Raraiya might be the only person who knew about it. However, knowing her amnesia and mentality, it would take some time before we know about what was the threats from the space actually look like.  Bellri suggested that Ameria and the Capital Armies should join forces to handle the incoming threat but Aida look doubtful with how easily the idea could become reality just after the intense wars between the two factions. From the information that I could assume, su cordism was like a religion faction with the holiness as its leader. In addition, Director Wilmit and General Surugan agreed to meet with the holiness to get the information about the incoming threat. So, after some consideration, they set the ship port to South or to be exact to the Capital territory.
Megafauna in vacation.. it even take picture for a memento

Even as a breather episode, this episode did not forget to give some mobile suit action as captain Mask suddenly ambushed the Megafauna; which en route to the capital. However, since he took the space ship alone he lost once more and had to abandon his Mobile suit. The interesting part was when Bellri still gave him a nudge so that Mask did not get blown with the wind while he tried to escape from his falling unit. Considering that he kept attacking the Megafauna and endangering the life of his friends, Bellri still saved  him and gave him chance to retreat.
I am flying without wing

This episode at least gives us a bit information that Capital Army and Capital Guard were two completely different entities and the relation between them was not in a good term. Bellri was of course a Capital Guard Cadet and in this episode, he finally reunited with his Ex-instructor Kerbes. Bellri said that since the Amerian Army did not give him a rank of lieutenant, he choose to remain as a Capital Guard Cadet. Director Wilmit herself contacted the Capital Guard and asked them for assistance to get to the Capital. Then, with the help of the Capital Guard, they managed to get to the Capital and asked the permission to get the audience with the Holiness.

Klim MY MONTEROOOOOOOOOOO!!!! fainted

In short, they met and had an argument about whether the distribution of the Photon Battery should be distributed equally. General Surugan insisted that the Capital Tower had to stop the monopolization of the Photon Battery while the Holiness argued that the way the Amerian wanted the Photon batteries might create another trouble like the past century. The atmosphere got heated as Colonel Cumpa from the Capital Army's research division suddenly entered the scene and joined the discussion. The Capital guard tried to protect Bellri and asked him to leave the meeting right away along with Aida, Raraiya, and Noredo.

Bellri "why did you grab my shoulder without reason?" Noredo "I need to.. our ship is shinking"

There were mysteries surrounding this series and to this point, they still were not fully explained. What was the Photon Battery? Why did the Holiness insisted to forbid the distribution of the Photon Battery? Who actually built the G-self unit? Could Bellri and Co escaped from the Capital? I am worried that they way the series treat its characters and how complicated it's storyline might turn some of the fans off. Still, I would see the next episode and see how it fare.

Go south..life is peaceful there; Gundam in Reconguista episode 9 Impression

Gundam in Reconguista episode 8 continued just last week assault from the Mask and his subordinate. Bellri had already taken back the G-unit and sent Raraiya to the pirate custody. This episode introduced Aida's father; General Surugan and also new enhancement for the G-self unit. After giving Raraiya to the reinforcement and making sure that she was safe, Bellri equipped the pink armaments to the back of the G-unit manually by positioning the unit and move it backward until it was locked in position.
Raraiya is the only person who did not realize about what happened

In the air the Green Mobile Armor, which named Armorzagan, kept the Mask squad busy with it continues laser beam shots. Combined with the Klim Nick's Montero, the huge green monster shot down several of the Mask squads Mobile suits. In one of the scene, the Armorzagan even transformed into a giant mobile suits and broke the Capital support unit rifle using it enormous arms. It seemed that Armorzagan also worked as a support unit as it could worked as a stand for a mobile suit while entering a Mobile armor mode.
Ah nothing beat mountain dew in space

Meanwhile, Director Wilmit who started to descend into the earth atmosphere saw the light of the battle from faraway and instantly, she instinctively knew that Bellri took part in the ensuing battle. Fortunately for her, the glider could stabilize so she could take a little breather knowing that it did not ended getting burn while entering the atmosphere.
Unleashing the pinky sensation
The mask truly enjoyed it sensation XD

Back to the battlefield, the Amerian pirate radar caught a glimpse of an incoming unknown; which was actually the one Wilmit board. Without given any command, Aida moved the arcane to intercept the intruder. Bellri asked her why did she move away from his father as she was supposed to protect him. Yet, the later still moved the unit to the higher atmosphere.
Enter survivor music here
Rocky in G

The mask unit could take down many of the pirate units most with a single shot. Yet the battle was boring and one sided, which reminded me to the time when char took down the Federation army's GMs back in the original Gundam. The only good battle that I could see from this episode was when the G-self; with it new upgrade pack, fought directly with Luin's lee mobile suits. Luin thought that if he could get above the unit, he might have bigger chance to take the unit down. To his surprise, the G-self attacked him using an alter image and after receiving the pressure (the pink pressure to be exact) his unit's joints started to rumble uncontrollably. Then, Bellri pink G-self punched the Mask unit right in the right torso and threw the unit off balance.
If the island could think, it would think "what's that mobile suit doing there"

Knowing that he was at the disadvantages, the mask fled the battle once again. Bellri thought it was all over when he realized that Aida's Arcane still went above the atmosphere to catch the unknown. Without wasting any moment, he took the pink G-self to the higher plane to met with her. I feel that Aida was being reckless when she decided to drive the unit above the atmosphere because the first thing I saw when she appeared was his unit struggling to stabilize with the space gravity. Just when Bellri also entered the space, he heard a voice that he familiar with. It was her mother voice and when he looked to his side, Aida's unit was in position to shot the plane. Fortunately, Bellri still could crashed his unit to the arcane in order to disrupt the later shooting and later on, he position the unit to catch the space glider. I thought it was quite ironic that she said she was about to be murderer when she pilot a mobile suit herself. Not only that it was heavily armed, she participated in the war where people killed other to survive.
Posing for a selfie I think X)

Both Aida's father and Belri's mother started a fast conference. It was the part when once again I got overwhelmed with information that still did not make sense to me. I was hoping that this episode would clear some to the confusing story line but the informations when they discuss the plan about the Amerian next step only made me more confused. What is the thing called roses of the Hermes blueprint looked like? and what technology from the Universal Century that the Amerian space pirate wanted to revive? I was worried that I might not give clear explanations about the war between Amerian and the Capital Tower (Gondwan??) using the scattered puzzle from this episode. Alas, let see the next episode and hope that the next one will play the story in a more simple and straightforward manner.

The mother and the son, The father and the daughter; Gundam in Reconguista episode 8 impression

Tad predictable was the impression I got from watching Gundam in Reconguista. From the appearance of the Mask, his real identity, and the dead of Dellelsen. And I have to admit the pace of the series started to bore me. Just like usual, the Capital Guard sent their army to avenge their fallen comrades (again). This time around the mask guy (luin) led the cadets who originally also came from Kuntala. He explained to us that Kuntala clan was considered as a clan that came from the lowest society in the past. Therefore, he encouraged his fellow Kuntalas to seize the opportunity to improved their position by taking down the Amerians pirates.
with all those mobile suits....that's make sense

The scene moved to the colony in which Director Wilmit (Belri's mother) inspected the surrounding area. As she checked them, she could not conceal his disgust that the capital army used the colony as if it was their front line base. This time around however, she held back to start a fight and focusing more about the ship that took her son.
camouflage in balloon

Back to the Megafauna, the pirate inflated a giant balloon that look exactly like a Megafauna and hoped that they could create a diversion. In addition, they also received yet another G-self upgrade parts and armaments. Yet, this episode had not reveal how the new upgrade looks like. It was mentioned that there was a space upgrade unit for the G-self. Speaking of upgrade, it seemed that the color of the G-self unit change according to the unit upgrade that it equipped with.

Klim the manipulator

Klim Nick, who noticed Raraiya before, suddenly asked her to pilot the G-self. Knowing very well that the amnesiac girl loved his pretty eyes, he manipulated her to take the unit seat and asked her to activate it. I don't know very well about his main intention. However, he might wanted to check whether Raraiya could work as Belri's replacement if he was not available. Or maybe, he intended to take special notice on how she worked the unit so that he could pilot it later.
Just say that you are hungry

In the other place, Director willmit went to a hangar to check a space glider. Unfortunately to her, she accidentally activated the machine with her locked inside it. The glider thrown out of the colony and the worst part was that it had no space suits inside so the Director life was at stake since if the glider happened to fall into the earth atmosphere, it might get burn while entering the earth atmosphere not to mention that it was possible that Director Willmit had no experience to operate the glider.

The mobile suit look weird.. but they are original at least

When the Mask team attacked the Megafauna, Belri was dumbfounded as someone (Raraiya) already deployed using the G-self unit. In order to get the unit back, he entered a Zaku like mobile suit named Jahanam and deployed. Just as the Mask shot down the G-self, which made it drown to the sea, Belri's Jahanam took it hand and guided it to a nearby island and in the aftermath, he replaced Raraiya again as the unit's pilot. Just as the Mask and his subordinates started to win the favour, a reinforcement in form of a green Mobile Armor came and started blasting at the Capital Armies.
who are thou???

I am still clueless about the series direction and who was fighting who in the series. However, I assumed that in few episodes later, the questions will be answered. What was the fate of Belri's mother? Will they survive the attack? Lets see the next episode to find out.

A second wave incoming; Gundam in reconguista episode 7 impression

The main theme from today episode was the accidental demise of Instructor Dellelsen in Bellri's hand. To be frank, it was very predictable that Dellelsen will die in this episode and from the last episode preview, Bellri mentioned that he made his greatest mistake. From that statement alone, I immediately know that he would make the Capital Guard's biggest enemy because he killed one of the Capital's best Ace pilot. Then, due to the mistake, Bellri's chance to get back as a Capital Army's cadet had diminished as his former team will hunt him down as their enemy. In reality, I expected this turn of event long before due to how the ending sequence foreshadowed the dead of Dellelsen in Bellri's hand. I noticed that Bellri hold hands with Cahill and Dellelsen so I could make a safe bet that sooner or later, he might accidentally killed his instructor just as he did to Cahill.

That's his last wish
In the first sequence of the episode, the instructor prepared to sortie with the new mobile suit; the Elf bull, to regain his honor, to avenge his fallen comrades, and to save Bellri. In any case, Bellri's mother still disagree with the army mobilization and she argued with one of the commander of the army to cease the attack. Nevertheless, The imperial army still condone the mission and sent the captain and some of the soldiers. In any case, Megafauna already entered the space so you could expect some space battle from this episode
In other word you are jelly

In the Megafauna, Bellri asked Noredo to prepare herself and Raraiya about taking the leave from the space pirate. He said that he need to count how many space ships that the Amerian army have before taking leave, which surprised Noredo that he still considered himself as the Capital's guard cadet. Interestingly, while she was hearing about their plan, Aida did not seem to object about Bellri and Noredo escape plan. Maybe she already knew that it was impossible for a capital cadet to change side to their enemy in an instant. Not to mention he was the person responsible for killing her lover.
Twin Satellite Canon??

The G self unit also got another upgrade in this episode as it got a beam reflector placed in its back. It was not tested before so Bellri felt that the pirate used him to test their new armaments. What amazed me was how the Amerian's pirate easily entrusted him with the most advanced upgrade for the G-self. After all, he still belong to the capital guard's cadet even if he did save them twice. Meanwhile, Instructor Dellelsen in his elf bull along with his Gironde team were preparing to storm the space pirates. Just as the G-self unit was launched to the space, the new reflector system turned the unit color into purple and its reflector part behind the unit resemble those twin satellite system from Gundam Double X
A very good marksmanship here :P

The irony from this episode was that neither Bellri or Dellelsen knew that they battled each other because they did not realize who their enemy was. Dellelsen thought that the Pirate got their hand in the G-self unit and sent their best pilot to thwart their mission. In the other hand, Bellri did not know that his instructor was the person who operated the new Elf-bull machine. Should he knew, he might try to negotiate with Dellelsen and told him that he was still sided with the Capital Guard and worked with them in order to spy how many spaceships that the Ameria army had. Alas, Bellri who tried to save Klim's montero from Dellelsen's Elf Bull shot the unit and just before the Elf Bull destroyed, he could listen to Dellelsen voice and realizing just too late.
I like how the colour pallets turned pinky (yes beam riffle colour is pink XD)

It was problematic for Bellri who already killed Cahill to remain in the Amerian's space pirate squad. Yet, his accidental killing of Dellelsen also made the G-self unit as the main target for the capital guard cadet. In addition, his grief for killing his mentor might haunt him later on. Well, I have a problem with how formulaic the pace of the story went. Yet, with a complicated wove of the storyline, I still could not predict what was the main problem or issue that happen in this Gundam universe. I was hoping that the story will be more simple and straightforward

If you haven't watch the episode, I suggested that you stop reading right now as the writing would spoil the events of the episode and ruining your enjoyment in following the story

In tradition of a Gundam franchise, usually there is a major antagonist who wore a mask to hide his/her identity. Hardcore Gundam followers would know about the one and only red comet, Char Aznable who wore a mask while fighting the original RX 78. Then, there were Zech Marquis from Wing Gundam, Neo Roanoku from Gundam Seed Destiny, and Mister Bushido from Gundam 00. With no exception, Gundam in reconguista followed the tradition that went back from the beginning of Gundam history by introducing a blue haired, mask wearing pilot. His name was simply called mask and he was taking the one of the more advanced mobile suits in Capital army to continue the failed mission from the last episode. I think it was very easy to know the real identity of the mask person since his facial and hair figure really matched Belri's best friend, Luin (except if Sunrise tried to fool us by making him a completely different person or maybe a clone/twin).
I doubt you could not guess his secret "identity"
In my impression, the fifth episode of Gundam in reconguista tried to wove the intricate story of the possibility of Bellri defected to the pirate side. A new character, Mick Jack, came to the Megafauna while bringing her new mobile suit code named Hecate. Another important aspect from last episode that I forgot to write was about Aida's real name. Her last name was not Reyhunton but Surugan and interestingly enough, she was in the line of being the successor of the throne / princess of the one of the nations; Ameria. In addition, Clim Nick mentioned that the G-self unit was produced in Towasanga and based from the unit origin, Raraiya Monday also possibly came from that place albeit losing her memory. Later on, Belri and Noredo followed Aida to the bridge. Belri said that he might not agreed to the late Captain Cahill's plan but he would protect the Megafauna to make amend of his action that killed the captain

It's not a yuri sign XD. Just a secret code between them

The G-self unit also had it own jet/ flight compartment that look similar to a core fighter of the original Gundam. During the maintenance, Capital Army along with the ace pilot Mask appeared and moved closer to the ship. Belri decided to sortie using the G-self but it core fighter was in the middle of maintenance. The ship mechanic; Happa asked him to get inside the core fighter unit. Meanwhile, Aida gave a support fire using a red G-self like mobile suits named Arcane.

Noredo always showed that scary face to female characters for some "unknown" reason

The Capital guards used a caitsith formation, which sacrificing the unit in the front to let the other break through the enemy formation, and managed to damage one of the space pirate's mobile suit. Klim Nick duel the Mask in a one and one air battle. The mask mobile suit appeared bigger than Klim's Montero and its lasers broke Klim's riffle. However, Klim still managed to retaliate by throwing the javelin to the Mask's chest unit.
The movement reminded me of Victory

Bellri could not move the core fighter and it made the G-self unit inoperable in a heated situation. With no other option, Happa called the bridge asking the captain to convey a message to Aida. The captain then asked Aida to grab the core fighter, with Bellri still inside, and put it manually to the back of G-self unit. Well, the core fighter suddenly flew off and Bellri had to move to the battlefield using only a core fighter equipped with only a machine gun. At the time Belri managed to drop a water ball down to the mask unit. It instantly explode and drown the unit like in an raging ocean, which made the mask surprised. Suddenly, the auto pilot for the core fighter started and its moved back to the Megafauna. The G-self docking process was completed and Bellri flew it to help Klim's already decapitated unit. Then, with a hand rotating motion, G-self break through the Mask finger laser and it landed a double slash to the enemy. The mask felt that his calculation was wrong so he took the initiative and left the battlefield
Ah you are just too shy to say welcome home directly :)

Finally, The space pirate with the help of Belri once again succeed in driving away the Capital Army. As the next successor of the line, Aida had an obligation to give gratitude to Belri as he helped them get away from another crises. She was bursting in tears in the elevator just after telling Belri that she appreciated his work. It seemed that she hated the very moment when she had to say thank to the person who killed her lover. In my humble opinion, I don't think the way Sunrise tried to show Aida's emotion to the viewer would be effective. After all, we barely know about Captain Cahill and his background story was not enough to send us to feel sympathetic to Aida's sentiment. Unknown to her, Belri and Noredo, still hoping to get back to the Capital guards, planned to escape from the space pirate with Noredo also claimed that she got the information of the Megafauna. As from the preview for the next episode I know that the escape plan might fail entirely and Bellri might end up working as a space pirate due to his mistake (possibly a fatal mistake that turned him as the enemy of the Capital Tower).

I honestly thought that Gundam in reconguista had a very complicated terms in storyline especially for a Gundam series. It mentioned how the capital used radar to avoid space debris, and how the tense political situation affected the capital decision to change the system. Then, the soldier who gave the speech said that capital tower worked to distribute the photon batteries. It still not explained how the photon batteries work and how the capital used the energy but I assumed that the gigantic elevators used the photon batteries to work. Indeed, I found myself staggered with the amount of detailed information that the series gave and how the political view affected the rule of wars. I assumed that in this year, Sunrise purposely divided the Gundam into two entirely different series. Gundam in reconguista with it complex story and simple Gundam design for older audiences and Gundam build fighter try, with it simple story and more Gundams with various design for younger audiences.
I know what you feel unknown background character :)

The four main characters; Belrii, Aida, Nuedo, and Raraiya arrived at the pirate's spaceship called Megafauna. And in an instant, Aida run toward the ship's captain and hugged him. In a burst of emotion, she kept apologizing for being careless and in the end cost the life of captain Cahill. He replied that he also apologized for letting her taking the mission using the G-self unit and how he knew about her tormented feelings. Later on it was explained that when the G-self unit was escorted to the pirate's hideout, the pilot (Raraiya) was already missing. Clim Nick tried to activate the unit but the more advanced system did not allow him to started it and in the end, only Aida could made it.
In living memory of Captain Cahill

The scene follow to Belri and Nuedo having conversation with Aida and the captain. They argued about why the pirate started the invasion and induced the war while the other side believed that the Capital tower distributed the photon battery unjustly. In the other side, Colonel Cumpa used the kidnapping as an excuse to mobilize the army. Several veteran pilots including the the instructor, Dellelsen were sent to retrieve the hostages. Belri's mother disagreed with the rescue mission as Colonel Cumpa did not ask permission from the holiness (the religion leader of Capital tower) beforehand.
Raraiya used charm

It's very ineffective

Back to the Megafauna, Clim Nick forced Belri to activate the G-self unit and perform simple task like flying the unit. In order to do so, he threatened Belri that he would harm both Nuredo and Raraiya if he disagreed. It seems that Clim Nick was jealous because even if he was genius at piloting a mobile suits, he could not even started the unit while there were other persons like Raraiya and Belri, who were capable of piloting it. Without no other option, Belri Zenam took the pilot seat, started the unit and move it above the Megafauna. Just at that moment, several recten units that belong to the Capital tower appeared and moved closer to the ship.
Raraiya (grumpy) "my charm failed" .. Noredo and Nobell (laughing)

The situation turned chaotic and the Megafauna captain, knowing that their hideout was found, ordered his crews to retaliate and attack the invader. Belrii, still feeling indebted and guilty for killing captain Cahill, decided to take arm to stop the Capital army. Moreover, with Noredo and Raraiya aboard the Megafauna, if he did not try to stop them, the capital army might ended up destroyed the ship. As the battle continues, Dellelsen proved himself as a very capable pilots but due to Belrii interferences and his sudden ability to unleash the G-self Su-cord system, some rectens were destroyed in the ensuing battles. In the end, the instructor left the scene with some of the Capital army survivors and decided to avoid more casualties.
Raraiya wonder if Noredo should forget Belrii and Date Chuchumy instead :D

I was a bit confused with many terms used in this Gundam series but I have a hope that with more episodes, all the questions will be answered. Which side will Belrii choose to Defend? Is it the Capital army which trained him or do he choose the space pirate in order to pay his debt to Aida? Well, I'll see the next episode to find out

Choosing side?? Gundam in Reconguista episode 4 Impression

If you haven't watch the episode, I suggested that you stop reading right now as the writing would spoil the events of the episode and ruining your enjoyment in following the story

This episode have just finished airing and I managed to watch the episode in a very tight schedule. The third episode deal mainly with how Belri and his friends end up joining the band of the pirate. I though this episode was quite simple and straight forward. The pirate girl is back in custody, one of her friend tried to do solo mission to retrieve her, the main character along with the three girls accidentally got inside the G-self cockpit, the pirate girl brought the main and the two girls back to the pirate headquarters.
Every war always has its reason
After the end of the small skirmish between the G-self and the space pirates mobile suits, the capital guard military took Aida as their prisoner again. Since she was not a part of the army, standard army procedure did not work on her and she had no right to defend herself. Belri still feeling a bit guilty for killing her superior watched her closely. Nuredo Nug, the red haired cheerleader kept getting angry on him whenever he looked at her. Back to his mansion, Belri asked her mother; the director, to release Aida from the detainment, which made Nuredo threw a sarcastic remark; saying the he was fallen in love to her. In the following morning, he tried to visit Aida secretly but once again Nuredo tagged along. It was pretty obvious who got crush to whom in this series.
Yandere mode activated XP

In the pirate hideout, Klim Nick, a young pilot just found out that their captain; cahill, was killed in action. Knowing that Aida was now in the capital custody, he took his mobile suit to take her back. Certainly, he was very confident to his own ability as he decided to take on the mission alone. One interesting feature that I found was that the seat in the cockpit also have a working toilet in it.
But the touching never stop

Back to the capital, Belri and Nuredo met with Colonel Cumpa to talk about Aida. Then, she met Belri and told him to leave her as the colonel have treated her well and he should not worry about her well being. Regardless of her anger toward Belri for killing Cahill, he retaliated by saying that their action also damage the capital tower. One interesting note was how Belri cited about not repeating the same mistake as the universal century. So, there is a possibility that the series will give a flashback to the universal century, in which the original Gundam series happened. There was still a mystery about the word “mistake” as it still not fully explained to the audience but I was more or less wanting to know about the series relation to its predecessor.
I like the unit design. They are simple and look very similar to the older series

Suddenly as they were having arguments, Klim Nick threatened the capital tower to give lady Aida back. The Capital retaliated by sending their mobile suits yet, he proved his skill in piloting through taking down some of the capital's mobile suits. The reason why he was more capable was because he had more experience in real battles while his opponents barely encountered the real battlefield. Aida took the chance to get inside the G-self cockpit but Raraiya, Belri, and Nuredo also followed her. In the end, Aida explained to Klim Nick that she was in a good condition and ordered him to cease his attack. In the end of the episode, she piloted the G-self unit back to the pirate's hideout
Seems like he got his own harem now
With the main characters went into the pirate hideout, it was possible that they will end up becoming the enemy of the capital tower (while I still just making a simple assumption). What will happen to Belri and Nuredo in the enemy's den? Will they become a hostage? Or did they end up joining the pirate in order to stop the Capital's energy monopolization. Let's wait for the next chapter to find out how the events work out.

Head to the enemy headquarter; Gundam in Reqonguista episode 3 Impression

It has been some time since I saw a Gundam franchise and in this 2014, Sunrise presented us with Gundam in reqonguista. The first impression when I got after watching the first episode was how retro the feel of the show. The characters resembled the characters from the early period of Gundam especially from zeta, double zeta, and turn A Gundam. Even the style of the hair and the eyes pretty much imitating it's long previous incarnation. In addition, the opening music was remixed with the 8 bit tune, which resemble a bit of those retro Nintendo tunes. With Tomino being its head director, it was obvious that this time around, Sunrise tried to create a series dedicated to their die-hard veteran watcher.
It will be hilarious if she was named Jessica Friday XD

The story main character was Bellri Zenam, who worked as a capital guard members. This time around Sunrise tried to make the series turned into a more realistic sense as Bellri, while he was still a young cadet, had experience in piloting a mobile suit. So, there will be no instant pilot prodigy like Kira Yamato, who never take any piloting crash course yet still capable of moving a highly advanced Gundam in his first try. It seems like the tone of the series also turned more serious right from the beginning with instantly visualized how the Gundam moves and react just likes its previous incarnations. The last gundam that I saw (Gundam OO) made the Gundams look like super mobile suits, which each unit could moved extremely fast and break hundreds of other mobile suits in an instant (Trans Arms).
your color pallets was retro dude

Gundam in reqonguista was started with one hour special, which consist of two episodes and I think it would be more time efficient to write the two episodes in one writing. The first episode, “Nazo no mobile suits”(misterious mobile suits) started with two mobile suits chased a Gundam like mobile suit in the earth's atmosphere. One of the units managed to catch the it and from the hatch, a young girl in tan and white hair fell from the cockpit. The chaser managed to retrieve the girl and put her under their custody. Then, the scene moved to a giant space elevator in where Belri and his classmates was having their usual daily meeting complete with some cheerleaders trying to cheer them up along the way.
After 2 hours of listening to that XX songs (hey I am not putting a name here XD don't disturb me)

The Gundam reappeared once again, in which it was called a G-self unit. This time, a young lass spice pirate named Aida Reyhunton piloted the G-self unit. I was wondering how could the same unit reappear again with a new pilot. Since Raraiya was captured, the capital guard should have confiscate the G-self but with Aida piloted the exact same unit, it meant that there were two identical units. The problem was that the first episode did not explain about how did Aida ended up piloted the G-self if it was already taken by the capital guard. Regardless of the plot hole, Belri showed his skill in this episode as he managed to bring enough trouble to the G-self using a standard mobile suits known as Rectem. Then, With the help of his seniors, they captured the G-self and took Aida in their custody. The girl in tan, whose current name was Raraiya Monday, reacted to the G-self unit although she barely talked at all during her time in custody
Slash

The second episode of the show entitled G-self kidou, which literally means “G-self started” took place some time after Belri operated the G-self. The students/cadets have returned from the space elevators along with the captured Aida Reyhunton. The episode start with some introduction to the people in the capital like the Pope and Belri's parent. The brief moment of peace got disturbed as the space pirates that entered the earth atmosphere in the first episode, were trying to retrieve Aida and the G-self unit. They invaded the capital using mobile suits and the small scale war happened.
For gundam fans it was a fan service XD zaku, nemo, dom troben

With the prisoner tower got bombarded in the ensuing battle, Belri and his company tried their best to rescue Aida that was sent there. They reunited and with no other option, they went to the place in where the G-self unit was kept. Aida tried to enter G-self cockpit but Belri interfered and ended up sitting in the main seat. As the space pirate mobile suits were getting closer, Belri activated the G-self and started the unit. He fend off the assailant and in order to defend themselves, he stabbed the enemy mobile suit right in the cockpit. What ironic was the enemy's pilot was Aida's superior; Cahill and by the look of how she desperately sobbed to his dead, it obvious that she was having a special feeling for him and Belri just killed the man
In most anime stout and strong willed gal always end up crying their heart out

While I was thinking that the plot might still need some work. I appreciate how eager sunrise tried to get the Gundam back its root. For example, there were only one type of Gundam that I have seen in the first two episodes, which mean they really intend to focus the anime in the plot and story development. It was very contrast with the previous series, in which they seemed very eager to introduce new mobile suits so that we could “collect” (buy) the plastics models later on. Also, the story tone have gone more serious and darker in theme with introducing the theme of death and sadness of losing a beloved one through war in its early episodes. There will be many questions that need to be answered like who was the real name of Raraiya monday, the technology behind the G-self, and who were behind the space pirates and their real motives. However, it was still to early for the series so I think some mysteries will be explained later on. As for now, I will try to see how the story of this 2014 Gundam develop

For the opening act, Rinka took Ayumu one on one in a training match. Well in the first encounter, Ayumu was like a totally jerk ass who act a bit like misogynist. What surprised me was how he managed to beat Rinka using a simple maneuver although later on it was explained that he used his Esper Magic to read Rinka's mind. His power was a bit similar to Murasaki while his was more on the future probability. To make it simple, he could predict what will happen in the near future that way he could read Rinka's next movement. Even if she was more skilled in combat, he could use the move that deflected the attack and used the opening to counter.
It reminded me of Yu Yu Hakusho a bit

After finding out about Ayumu power, Rinka devised the plan to win against him. She knew that while he could read the near future, his reaction time was slower than her plus he did not have a strong physical body either. So, Rinka trained rigorously with his father to increase her speed and reaction time. In the other place, Murasaki practiced her clairvoyant using a card until she found the weapons that Rinka used when fighting the Yakuza. Out of sudden her power activated and she could imagine how Rinka used the Tonfa and she ended up replicating her movement, which unfortunately took a victim :P
I like the angle of the video ^-^

We got a bit of glance of Ayumu's mother who worked as a politician. What ironic was she hate espers very much and considered them as a monster. It made Ayumu quite sad because she did not know that her own son was an esper and with the election date got closer, she already planned an agenda to get rid of esp user in the Tokyo. I think this slightly portrayed the idea that even in the Tokyo Esp world, being different will be treated unjustly and discriminated. Even if the cause of the Esper Magic was from the third party influence (the professor), normal civilian like Ayumu's mother judged esper as a pest that need to get rid off.
Even her father had to taste her special throw
In the next training match, Rinka used a passive stance. This time around, Ayumu was at total disadvantages as every movement that he used only end in his lose. When he took the initiative to attack, his future reading only made his movement slower. In fact, Rinka used Ayumu's aggressive attack to counter every move and beat him up. Not only that Rinka's training made her faster than Ayumu but also his future reading failed to see any winning chance, which secured Rinka's victory. Not enough with the embarrassment from Rinka, Murasaki beat him using her clairvoyant magic. She could imitate the moves of the previous owner of any material that she grabbed and what interest me was she grabbed a nunchaku and performed its previous owner's moves to him.
And stop looking at mah face, I am just a figurant XD

The last part of the episode was what made this episode a bit more interesting. When Murasaki and Ayumu walked from training, they came across Ayumu's mother who introduced her agenda for the passerby. Suddenly, a staunch built man with a rough and long medium hair struck the podium with lighting. He was an esp Magic user specialist at inducing electricity and he intend to kill Ayumu's mother. This was the difficult part came in as Kobushi and Rinka was not in the scene and Ayumu and Murasaki lack real combat experience. The tension came when Ayumu's magic showed an image of the bulky man electrocuted his mother and he had to think faster to save themselves from the man. The clock kept tickling until he realized to break the water pipe and let the pouring water to create distraction and in the nick of time, Murasaki performed a spinning kick to the man.

The problem was solved but now Ayumu mother knew that her son was also an Esp. Will it create tension between them? As cliché as it is sound, we were nearing the end of Tokyo Esp for the first season and I was still not finished writing most of the newest episode. I think it will be a very late update for the series while the fall season was already started. I think I need to find a new series and start from the scratch
