Yes, this is the last episode of Tokyo Ghoul (at least for season 1). In the beginning, I was hoping this episode would be filled with actions but in reality, the last episode actually develop Kaneki's character further. I guessed for a character development episode, I have to say that this episode was a very decent episode. What happened to Kaneki Past, his struggle, his despair, as well as the strengths that he achieved at the end of the episode make up for the battles that I was hoping from the last episode.
Hi long time no see Miss Rize XP

The episode started with Jason continued cutting of Kaneki's feet and hand fingers and while the gory images was removed from us the viewer, the tense atmosphere in where Kaneki kept counting for every missing fingers was enough to make me clench in anxiousness. Inside Kaneki's mind, Rize awakened and greeted him. We all knew that Rize was die a long ago due to the accident but somehow, her consciousness still lived inside Kaneki's mind. Maybe it was because of Kaneki's merciful tendency, which made Rize still retained part of her mind. Well the last part of the episode would make it clear for us; the audience.
Hyde was not just a friend he was like a brother to him

Rize asked what kind of person Kaneki's mother was. In the next scene, the character development for Kaneki, who was kind of neglected got developed even further. Her mother was a very kind person who never rejected any request from the person that she knew. Since the death of her husband, she worked alone to feed Kaneki and herself. The very sad part was even though she had to work alone, her sister kept asking her for money and she did not even had enough courage to reject the request. She kept working and neglected taking rest which made her body gradually getting weaker. Her dead, which was due to over-working, created a big blow to Kaneki. For that time, Kaneki lived alone and the only person who saved Kaneki from acute loneliness was no other than Hyde; his best friend.
Ahh your face said you'll do it anyway

Reality hit hard as when Kaneki opened his eyes, Jason showed the two pair of Ghouls, who worked along with Banjo to keep their eye on him, in front of Kaneki. Jason intended to break Kaneki further by asking about who should he killed first. It was obvious that the man would be willing to be the sacrifice but since Kaneki opt for not choosing, Jason ended up killing them both.
Well, I might be stereotyping about an anime villain here but knowing Jason, no matter whose person that Kaneki choose, he might still kill the other person anyway.
the moral of the story.. you can't please everyone

Inside Kaneki's mind, once again Rize appeared. She taunted Kaneki about his indecisiveness and his tendency to blame himself. Then, she explained to him about why he should choose in order to let the other person live. Rize told him that he should throw away his ideal of letting himself hurt as long as the other did not hurt. She even showed an image of Jason killing his friends of Anteiku and lastly killed Hyde to cleared his mind that his kindness would only lead to more victims. Unable to stand from the terror, Kaneki finally accepted his ghoulish nature completely by devouring Rize of his mind. The next thing we see was Kaneki hair turned completely white and his personality turned sadistic.
No more goody mr shoes now

The new Kaneki broke out from the chain and attacked Jason. Desperately, Jason tried to fend of Kaneki's attack. Kaneki newborn power made him capable of strangling Jason and threw him to the wall. Jason rage turn on his Kagune but at the end of the rope, Kaneki killed him with his developed Kagune.
Last but not least, this episode was the end of the Tokyo Ghoul (for the time being until the second season air). In my opinion, we could expect that Kaneki will not become the same person as he was before. Due to his ghoulish blood, he might become more bloodthirsty or stop acting like a goody fellow like before. In addition, there were still unfinished battles in the shopping mall between Gcc, Aogiri Tree, and the Anteiku members.

This episode was very intense and far from the word boring with the GCC members performed all out attack to the abandoned shopping mall where the Aogiri Tree members occupied.
From the moment we watched the episode, we were given many fights between the Human and the ghouls and also from the Anteiku members, who infiltrate the battle zone in order to retrieve Kaneki back during the chaotic battle.
Peek a Boo!

Just following last week episode, Shu appearances in the Anteiku received hateful reception from Touka and Nishiki. And what really surprising me was he survived from his death because he ate his own flesh to recover his injuries. This information made us realize that even in the worse condition, a Ghoul could recover themselves as long as they ate a flesh; either it was from human or from Ghouls. Although they felt resentful toward Shu, Mr Yomo guarantee that he would take a close watch to Shu's actions. Along with Mr Uta, the mask artists, the Anteiku started the Kaneki's retrieval mission.
My motorcycle T^T and I have just finished the last credit payment..

In the other place, Kaneki woke up in a torture chamber and he sat on the chair and completely chained up. The man who stand in front of him was none other than Jason; one of the most sadistic Ghoul in district 20. Jason tortured Kaneki and gave him some RC inhibition fluid; a serum that suppress the power of Kagune from the ghoul's body. Using that serum, Jason cut and collect Kaneki's feet fingers and create endless pain for him. Not enough with the torment, Jason also asked him to count a number starting from a thousand and he needed to decrease the number by 7 for each taken fingers. Later on, it was explained that Jason used to undergone the same situation when a problematic inspector interrogated him in the Ghoul internment cneter. Due to the pain and trauma that he experienced, he started to create a monstrous personality and using Jason as his alias.
what did I see???

The GCC started their operation to take back district 11. They sent their special agents with the help from the police department, which consist of thousand men. At the first time they could not enter the barricaded shopping mall because the ghouls guard the main entrance using firearms. What interest me was the little white haired runt, whose name is Suzuya Juzo, who took Marudo's motorcycle and crashed it directly to the ghouls' nest as he jumped into the guards territory. The skinny special member was very good with firearms as he singlehandedly took out guards and opened the path for the other inspectors to attack the mall.
Mado existence was more or less to shape Amon's background story. I think

Amon met with Touka who also happen to infiltrate the mall and he instantly chased and hunted her. He was still angry with Mado's death and he was about to exact revenge until two mysterious ghouls known as the Bing Brother attacked him. We got a glance of Amon's background story revolved around Mado and his advice to him during their working time together. As the Twin brothers overwhelmed him, Mado's word told him that in order to win against stronger enemies, he must be willing to win even if he had to throw his pride aside. Just after that, his quinque evolved into a two pair of giant sword, which he used to obliterate the Bing brothers.

What really make me sad was with so many battles to finish, the next episode would be the last episode for Tokyo Ghouls season one. I don't know if the producer could cram all of the potential battle inside one episode. In addition, during the last part of the episode, there was a mysterious giant owl like Ghoul that I presume was Mr Yoshimura, who wanted to create diversion for the Anteiku members (no I don't read the manga as the revelation was purely come from my instinct so my assumption can be either right or wrong). I was very excited during this episode and now I'll watch the last episode and hope that the last one would not fail me

All out wars between Ghouls and GCC; Tokyo Ghouls episode 11 impression

This episode actually feel very short in my opinion. Really, maybe because I really enjoyed the carnage or maybe because the sudden fight between the Ghouls amused me. It excited me enough to make twenty four minutes looks like a five minutes show but what really entice me was the fact that Jason completely broke Kaneki's body and his rampage in the Anteiku took the main portion of today's episode.
Kaneki used Headbutt... It;s very effective

Aogiri Tree, a band of Ghouls, was the group that got the attention of GCC. This group killed all of the inspectors in the 11 branch and overtaken the districts. This serious event made the GCC held special meeting to discuss the situation. By the way, the mysterious boy with a white hair last week was actually a GCC members. I did not know about his special ability but it seems that he was the GCC special member

That's silhouette... it's Kamen rider :D

The mysterious group of ghouls that appeared from the last episodes came visited Anteiku directly. The leader, Banjo, a tall with muscular man, immediately threaten Kaneki to show the manager. Apparently he had a crush to Rize as he suddenly attacked Kaneki because he released the same odor as her. And after a few misunderstanding, including Kaneki made him passed out with his clumsiness, he plead Kaneki to tell Rize about running away from the 20 districts. In reality, he was actually one of the Ghouls who ran from 11 districts and he worried about Rize due to the fact that Aogiri Tree wanted her.

Knock..knock anybody home?

It surprised me when Ayato, Touka's brother, suddenly jumped inside the scene and immediately took down Banjo using only one thrusting kick. Not enough with Ayato sudden appearance, Jason and his feminine looking guy accomplice, entered the shop. It turned out that both Jason and Ayato were working together and with the atmosphere getting heated, Jason showed his intention of taking Kaneki away.

Finish Him

What comes next was the gruesome scene where Jason single handedly beat Kaneki to the pulp. Even Touka could not help him because of Ayato's interference. When Touka unleashed her Kagune, Ayato intercepted with stronger Kagune and stabbed her body using a fin like feathers. Thing got worse as Jason pummeled Kaneki, blasted his body around, then finally stabbed him until he went to comma. Only due to Jason's accomplice interference did he stop his rampage and then he took Kaneki's limp body with him

Rated 18 for violence.. well at least they don't introduce the black screen today

When Mr Yoshimura and Yomo entered the shop, they realized that Anteiku was completely messed up. They talked to the wounded Touka about the incident and she just informed them about the kidnapping. Mr Yoshimura had no other options but to start a staff meeting in order to solve the problem. Touka, Nishiki, and Hinami agreed to help Kaneki even if that means they have to break Anteiku policy's. Realizing their determination, Yoshimura said that Anteiku was founded to help their member in desperate need and he introduced a person to help them saving Kaneki. What surprised me was the person turned out to be Shu; the very person who wanted to devour Kaneki in the first place.
I am  fabulous

With the series getting more and more intense, I could say that next week will be a very interesting episodes. What will happen to Kaneki next? What was Shu real intention and how he survived his demise? What will be the outcome of the battle between the Inspectors and the Aogiri tree. Let's wait to see the next episode to find out.

The episode gave the character background for Kureo Mado and Amon regarding to their first assignment dealing with Ghoul. I knew Mado was gone for good in the last episode and the past event was told to reaffirm the connection between the two inspectors. The first part dealt with Amon's idealism against Mado's experiences. Being a green horn member of GCC, Amon questioned Mado about his instinct for accusing a kind old woman as a disguising Ghoul. Due to his lack of experience regarding to the ghoul predatory nature, he taught that his superior only accused someone without solid proof. His goody-two shoes nature bite him when he decided to help the lady carrying his bag. In the secluded area, she attacked and showed him her real color until Mado came and finished of the Ghoul. This event purposefully gave the real connection from the episode when Amon decided to keep fighting Tohka when he did not bring his quinques.
Ah back when he was such a lovely idealist

As for the episode itself, it definitely a breather episode to give characters information as well as building the foundation for the possibility of the next episodes encounter. After losing her parents from the inspector, Hinami lived together with Tohka and they formed a sister like bond. Due to her identity already exposed to the dove, she also had to disguise herself if she had to go outside. Because of the trauma of losing both of her parents, sometimes Hinami kept feeling sad every time he came across the gang where her mother died and she desperately cried when her pet parrot sick.
You kept mentioning Devil Ape again and again. Are you really that great ;)

I have nothing much to say about this episode as some parts of the scene were more or less only fill the empty slot for the air time such like when the Amon caught the glimpse of Mado's wife or confrontation between Tohka and Nishiki. I found these scene less important to show for us; the audience. So what's the point of showing Mado's wife if we never knew she even existed before. It did not give the impact of losing a person like what this show normally capable of showing before. If the wife appeared in the previous episodes, at least we would feel bitter when Hinami stabbed and killed Mado in the last episode.
Cat vs Dog part 2

Nevertheless, there were interesting development regarding a mysterious character that pick-pocketed Kaneki's wallet. It was not known whether he was a foe or an ally and apart from his white hair and stitched arms, we were left with guessing whether he had a good or bad motives. The only thing that we knew was he had a sudden interest to Kaneki and from my opinion, his curiosity more or less related to the Ghoul that lived inside Kaneki's body; Rize.
They must enjoy playing gender bender in the real life XD

The best part of the episode was when Tohka past was revealed to us. She had a younger brother who seems more timid compared to her boyish personality. Then, the last screen confirmed that his brother was the one responsible to create disturbance in the 11 district , which make me keep guessing what kind of event that changed his behavior and compassion.
I smelt a hidden advertisement here lol

Another interesting points from this episode also came from Hyde curiosity regarding ghoul. While he said that he only interested in ghouls due to the book that he read. I smell his curiosity came from his realization that his best friend was also a ghoul. Hyde might not mention it directly but if you watch the second episode of the Tokyo Ghoul, you will realize that he only pretended to sleep when Kaneki was talking to Mr Yoshimura about his half ghoul condition. Then when he overheard Jason talked about Rize, his reaction definitely told us that he knew about Anteiku's secret.
Anime rule number 101: Loli solve all problems XD

The last part of the episode introduced three mysterious ghouls who went to 20 district with Anteiku as their destination and it seems that they also have relation to the binge eater A.K.A Rize. What is their story? What is the intention of Tohka's brother? Who was the white haired person that pick-pocketed Kaneki? So many questions lingering in my head and we will see what kind of story Tokyo Ghouls intended to told us later.

Haikyuu!! was getting closer to the end of the season and I thought 25 episode was not enough to cover all of the manga chapters so there are possibilities that Haikyuu!! will get another season coming. Compared to the other anime that I was watch before like Shingeki no Kyojin, Valvrave the rebellion, or even Aquarion, watching Haikyuu!! gave me a more relaxing feels and took my strenuous brain muscles to rest.
Took the jump serve like a boss

Haikyuu!! was more or less the anime that have more positive attitudes. Might be because it focused mainly in a slice of life genre and it covered in a sport mainly. While it still give some spot in the feeling of loosing and depression, the series mainly focused the cast development and the team bonding moments with the spice of volleyball as the main theme.
No Oikawa we don't see you; you are invincible

After watching the episode, I guessed that the last remaining episode might only cover the battle between Karasuno and Seijoh since the passing of this episode was slower than what I expected. During the match, Oikawa found out about the gimmick that Karasuno used to do the “freak shots” so he told the manager to do time out. He told his team mates that whenever Hinata said “bring it”, Kageyama would perform a freak shot while when he said “ to me”, Kageyama would send the ball to the other spiker.
Nope :P

Once again, Haikyuu!! told us, the audience, that in any sport with team members, the most important trait was teamworks. A good team will not rely in one specific person to win the match. And the episode blatantly told us that in term of teamwork, Seijoh was definitely a better team. Sure It was Oikawa who mostly did the thinking. However, he was supported and trusted completely by his teammates and in return, he trusted them. Compared to Seijoh, Karasuno have a bit of personal issues. For example, the team was just newly arranged and the first and the third years students haven't found their chemistry yet. Not to mention that Kageyama and Tsukishima had a strong sentiment to each other
What he's doing up there >0> a pantomime

This episode have many interesting scene for instance how Nishinoya took the devastating jump serve from Oikawa himself. He could see that the ball will change it direction and took the serve directly. Then, a very anxious Kageyama used his most powerful jump serve only for the ball to left the court and fell outside of the enemy side lines. Then, when Oikawa found about Kageyama's about to perform another dump shot and he blocked the ball. Needless to say, whenever the Karasuno scored, Seijoh always found a way to even the score.
Oikawa might not be a genius setter but he definitely stronger

However, the tides turned to Karasuno sides when Oikawa decided to target Tanaka. He purposefully shot his trademark jump serve directly to Tanaka, which allowing Seijoh to lead by four points. It looked like Oikawa purposefully tried to put heavy pressure on both Tanaka and Kageyama. He tried to break Tanaka spirit by targeting him with his serve and hoping that he would break down from the guilt of failing. In addition, he also tried to intimidate Kageyama with his time out as if he knew the Karasuno tactics and how to find the solution for the freak tactics.
*Sugawara* "Your carelessness get a score of 9"

The episode cleverly built the development of Tanaka strength. Even with the frustration from being targeted directly by Oikawa, he managed to stay focused and showed to the other member that he would not fall to the self pity, something that happened to Azumane before. Then with his strong resolve, he managed to score again. In other hand, the very anxious Kageyama kept making mistakes and with his composure started to fall apart, Ukai Had no other choice but to replace him with the more experienced Sugawara.

Episode 8 of Tokyo Ghouls will finish the battle between Tohka and Mado and this episode filled with gruesome battle between the characters though the censor ruined our enjoyment especially at the most crucial part. In term of character setting, Mado was the kind of character that you will not like even from the moment of his first appearance. He was a psychopathic old man with and maniacal laughter plus a warmonger and bloodthirsty behavior. Unlike Amon he depicted another stereotyped anime villain; sadist, unforgiving, and have a hideous appearance. Unfortunately, we never see him having a humane characteristic such as compassion, or showing mercy and the thing that made me sad was he did not have any background story or other motivational reason that made him hate Ghouls and hunted them crazily. It was sad to to see a completely 2 dimensional character made just for being a villain and no other role expect for taking karma for his previous misdeeds.
That's one hell of gigantic fist

Mado used the scent of Hinami's mother to attract her in order to capture rabbit (Tohka) out. The episode also explained to us that the inspector could create a weapon from the remaining organ of the ghoul especially the lamune (ghoul extensional arms like organ). Mado used Mrs Ryoko's lamune as his shield and her husband lamune as a chain like weapon. Meanwhile, Kaneki spotted Amon who wanted to join Mado and he bravely stood in front of him. In their fight, Amon angrily lamenting the death of his friend. He was engulfed with anger and sadness because ghouls have taken the life of the innocences.
If you lose your sight, the genre will be tragedy

In other place, Tohka fought Mado furiously but he managed to strangle Tohka because of his new weapons. Tohka in her anger shouted that they only wanted to live and having a ghoul body was something that she never wanted. She added that it was her body and her instincts that made her wanted to eat people fleshes. She felt bitter because kind ghouls like Hinami's parents were killed although they never attack human. Meanwhile, Kaneki have no other option than succumbing to his ghoulish nature due to the fact that the inspector proved stronger than him. Still, when he won over the inspector, he asked him to run because he did not want to murder a fellow human being
yes I can see it clearly nods

I think the battle for this episode focus mainly on the emotion between Ghouls and Humans as both want to survive and continue living. Each side only want to live but due to ironic circumstances, the weaker person have to lost their life. In this case, it was Hinami's parents and Amon's friend who become the victim of the tragedy. Through the battle, we learn that the only person who could sympathized with both race was Kaneki because he was a human forced to have a half ghoul body. He knew that each race deserve to live and his encounter that he had with Anteiku gangs and Hinami's family made him realize that not all Ghoul threat human as prey. In the other hand, there are normal and kind people like Hyde and Amon's friend who unfortunately got caught in the battle between Ghouls and Human.

You really know how to play with my feeling T-T

When Tohka almost got killed, Hinami anger unleashed her potent power and it was revealing that she inherited both of her parents abilities. The crazy thing was how easily Hinami defeat Mado even though an S class ghoul such as Jason could not tear him apart. In the beginning, I thought Kaneki would help Tohka and they could finally put him to rest. However, when he tried to attack Hinami for the second time, her ghoulish wing like Lamune fatally stroke the old man putting him at the death door. The strong emotional impact that I felt from this episode was when Hinami cried after hitting the old man. She did not want revenge at all and the only thing that she wants was to be with her parents. I admitted that when Hinami crying, I felt so sorry for her. I could feel the real emotion from the voice and the picture, which made the episode once again manage to captivate me.
