Tokyo Ghoul started to feel more like a horror anime than an action anime for me. The anime tried to build tension through new characters who acted as friend then suddenly trap the main character. And this episode was the exact example for a betrayal of a friendly person. So following the episode last week it started when a mysterious guest entered the cafe, the man wore a stylish suits with a purple colored hair. Just when he arrived, Toka immediately start scowling and asked him to leave. With a sinister smile he tried to talk to Kaneki and later on left the caffe. Toka later warned Kaneki that the man was a parasite of ward 20 and he should be wary with him.
Pokerface level: Master

The episode then pictured Toka having lunch with her human friend and how she ended up vomiting her friends food. Of course we already knew that every ghoul; including Toka faked their likes for human food. The scene switched to Kaneki who was sitting in the park while reading book. The purple haired guy came and introduced himself as Tsukiyama Shu. He later on try to convince Kaneki that people kept misunderstood about him and he had no bad intention to Kaneki. He told Kaneki that he also read the same book from Kaneki's favorite author thus inviting him to come to his mansion.
That's fighting style?? is that you Paul

Later on Tomo, the person who Kaneki helped to collect the suicide victims' bodies came to the bar. He basically taught Kaneki some self defense and then later on took Kaneki to Helter Skelter Bar. In the bar, the owner of the bar, Itori, told Kaneki about the chance of a half born ghoul lived in the world. She explained that half blood ghoul possess higher power than the full blood one. It means Kaneki and the little girl from the previous episode had higher potential to become stronger ghouls. Back to the bar, Itori told Kaneki about Rize incident. It looks like someone tried to trap Rize and killed her as an eyewitness saw someone standing above the building which construction fell to Rize during the first episode.
What an amazing revelation :-P

The thing that I dislike about a character like Kaneki was his gullibility toward a person who tried to befriend him. I mean Toka already warned him to stay away from Shu. Yet, just with a little convincing, he still went to his place although he had another reason to see Shu since he want to know Shu relation with the Ghoul inside his mind; Rize. It was a bad decision to come to though and he was never knew that the parasite already planned a scary agenda for him.
Ole

Now the main event start, when Kaneki woke up, he found himself in the middle of a Colosseum like arena. He was the main attraction and the one who set him up was none other than Shu himself. A giant and fat Ghoul entered the arena with a giant cleaver like saw in hand. Of course his main interest was to slaughter Kaneki and there were many spectators in the arena who wanted to taste Kaneki's blood. It kind of scary development when Kaneki's realize that he could not use his feet after getting knocked down due to the coffee paralyzes effect that he drank earlier. When Kaneki was in a grave danger his one eyed ghoul unleashed his hidden power and he ended up knocking up the giant executioner. The crazy part was how Shu killed the big executioner after knowing that Kaneki was a half blood Ghoul. He became completely obsessed with Kaneki and wanted to devour him alone.
He definitely the last survivor of Ginyu's force

The episode had a concrete storyline. It started slow with new characters, Shu and Itori, introduced to the audience as they interacted with the main character. Then after sudden event, the episode exploded with a frightening experience of the Kaneki who was about to get slaughtered. It ended just abruptly with the host of the tournament killed the scrapper with the most scariest intention ever. A decent episode yet I want to know what kind of experiences we will see in the next episode.

My big, fat Wedding;P I mean executioner; Tokyo Ghoul impression episode 4

The match between Dateko and Karasuno started in this episode. I have no doubt that the episode will bring the best match to the table and Haikyuu!! surely gave us the good match. Alright I'll try to give my honest opinion about the episode. The first part is very slow; before the start of the opening theme, they flashback to the last part of late episode when Nishinoya performed his rolling thunder. For some viewer, it was good to memorize last episode closing. Yet for me I thought they could skip the introduction to make the battle with Dateko have more additional minutes.
The first score

Then comes the main part of the episode. The first important event that I could note was how fast the reaction of Dateko central blocker to their opponent's movement. When Hinata made the first score, Dateko main's blocker, the giant without eye brow; Takanobu Aone, automatically jump to whatever part of the area that the setter sent the ball to. Hinata did scored yet he still managed to tip the ball. It proves how good the blocker reaction to the ball movement. Knowing Dateko reputation as an iron wall, it did not surprise me that they had a blocker with lighting fast reaction.
hahaha owned very hard

With the match getting more heated, Dateko managed to block Karasuno spikes from Nishina to Tanaka. Eventually, when Hinata spiked, the Aone used his fast hand reflex to thwart his smash. If we look at the turn of event, we might think that Karasuno would lose to Dateko yet, they had not shown their trump card for the Dateko players. Karasuno still own the duo combination (Hinata and Kageyama) or the what the Aoba Josai teams called as a “freak quick”. Consistently, Karasuno trapped Dateko by hiding the quick attack and let them thought that they used normal spikes to attack.
the dimmer the background of the episode :P

The middle part of the anime was very interesting. When Kageyama told Hinata the time for showing their hidden move, the match became very interesting. This was the first time Dateko experienced the duo “freak spike” and their reactions' were priceless. Hinata's spike was very fast and unpredictable that their iron walls did not even jumped or moved when he scored. It was truly a shock for the Dateko players and the spiked itself made them considered Hinata as the main treat.
Where is my cheese burger!!!

Suddenly, the entire players of Dateko targeted Hinata as the threat and his every movement was marked. The funny thing was he played as the decoy so with them targeting him, the other Karasuno's players have a freedom of movement to score in the area that not guarded by Dateko's players. The last part was impressive as Karasuno mimicked Kenma's high school fake spike with Hinata being the decoy smasher. When Asahina jumped and saw the vision of the blockers gone from his sight and later on spiked the ball in an empty space, I felt very impressed with the teams decision to give him the chance.
I'LL EAT YOU!!
OH NO!!

Sh*T

The match was impressive and while there's not many comedy in this episode, I think it was still a very decent and solid episode. The episode might not gave any background information for the characters but it still gave us how the team matured. There is even a particular scene that flashback to the first episode, in which Kageyama gave his reckless toss to his ex-team. In addition, Hinata finally accepted his position as a decoy and no longer felt disappointed with his roles. A good B+ episode from me.

Shattered the iron wall like Boss; Haikyuu!! episode 17 impression

Wow the episode 16 was very powerful. It was filled with so many emotions and I do know that I could feel the sadness and the loss of the Haikyuu!! character. I know Tokonomi might not stand a chance againts the new Karasuno team. Yet, the motivation from the players was admirable and yes that including the girls team of Karasuno High Volleyball clubs. I felt the producer really wanted to tell me that even with the less important screen times for the woman team, they would not let the team's match ended without a good closure.
Still jumping knowing that it will not work. hmm good going

First of all, I really like this episode because it gave us the detailed background story of Sawamura and his friend Ikejiri. It told us about their match during their junior high when their volleyball team advanced to the second round. They gave us a moral story that a winning team was not created in one night. Even with a good motivation, they still could not win the championship because of the lack of skills and training. Somehow, it taught us that only having a winning attitude was not enough. We have to endure the bitter reality of losing and sometimes, it was very sad to be the part of the losing team. But the important thing was just like Ikejiri's word “if we never believe we can win, we will never win”. Despite the fact that they still lose the match, they kept fighting and did not lose hope even in the final match points. The main point is no matter how dire the situation, never give up. Never lose hope for when you started to doubt over yourself, it's all over. "You are the person who responsible with the outcome of your life so don't hesitate". I think that what the producer wanted to tell me.
Yuri detected  XP

Second, the girl team of Karasuno High finally got their one and only match. Well, I knew they would not get the attention for the series but it seems that their motivation for winning was real. However, their journey would not continue. It was obvious that today episode wanted to tell the audience the emotion of losing a match. The part when they showed the images of crying players really got into me T-T. I have experienced the feeling of losing before so pay no mind for my sentimentality ^-^. Even Hinata knew the feeling of the losing team due the fact that he also lose completely during the match between his Junior high team against Kageyama's ex-team.
Kageyama becomes the most developed character. The old him would not even smile like that

So, Hinata already earned the reputation of an amazing player that most of the other team would give special attention to him. This condition actually benefited the Karasuno team with the fact that he actually act as the team decoy, the posibility that the other team would surely targeted him. It made the other players of Karasuno had higher chance to move around and score.

Ok so next episode we will have the match of Karasuno against Dateko. The match which Karasuno lose three months ago. The match where Asahina lost his spirits and love for volleyball. I think the next match will be more interesting to watch. If I have to say about this episode, the comedy was not too exaggerated but the drama and the story was a good tearjerker. I would say the episode as a solid one and a have high expectation for the next one.

Losing is the spice of life and here is Haikyuu!! episode 16 for you

Tokyo Esp started the episode with the continuation of last week battle as the real heroine, Rinka Uroboshi, psy kicked one one of the terrorist espers. The battle aftermath was a really good one with her dealing one after another espers using her acrobatic movement, she looked extremely experienced dealing with esper but the origin of her Physic ability and her main motivations to help other were actually the main points of this episode.
The first part of the episode has intense battle
The story flashback to the day Rinka fell from her apartment room to the room bellow, completely naked nonetheless. This was the first event when Rinka experienced her esp condition as her hair turned completely white and sometimes her feet kept going through the floor. Suddenly a young man entered her room and introduced himself as Azuma Kyotaro. He told her about the events that made her magical powers born. He was also the person who told Rinka how she should consider the power as a gift not as a curse and how she could use the power for the benefit of humanity.
And I wonder where is my eye lens and pupil XD
It revealed that every Esper in Tokyo Esp experience the same event viewing a group of shining fishes swimming in the air and  after the fish get through the person body, their supernatural powers born. While the origin of the flying fish remained a mystery, at least we knew the source of the espers' magic. In addition, we still did not know about why it could fly in the sky or how could it effect the person's magical power who see them.

Rinka! how could you kick your pupil-less father

In another case, her father also gained psy-power though for him, his magic only cause more trouble than convenience. Seriously, he turned into a human magnet for god sake. Whenever he moved, every matters made from steel chase him. And the funny thing is it was not his body that the magnetic field but his hairs so hard steel matters like steel ironing or television kept hitting his head. Not to mention that Rinka had to psy kick him in the head in order to pass him out when his power went out of control. It had some of it funny moments too  like when she Rinka had to tied her father to the bed before going to work because she afraid if he went outside, he would cause similar problem with the first time his magic unleashed.

And why did my eyes still had no lens and pupil

SHATP. Look at my eyes and stop complaining

The last part of the second episode was more about the thief that broke the museum in the night and a man wearing a crow mask was the culprit. It turned out that Kazuma was the man behind the mask. It was very funny watching Rinka totally kicked him because she was still believing that he was innocent. Later on, Kazuma revealed the real culprit and the event continued with the fight between Rinka against the thief, black fist. She was the person with the glowing giant fist from the last episode so she would certainly become her friend later on. Since this was the first time Rinka used her power to fight, the black fist easily cornered her but with the help of Azuma, she could finally psy-kick her and turn the black fist thief to the police.
I knew who is more dominant in this relationship

Well comparing to the last episode that full with actions, maybe I felt rather difficult to find which event truly stunned my watching experience. Yet, don't get discouraged as this episode was still very interesting to see as it gave us lot of information regarding the characters' background story. We finally got the character introduction of Rinka and Kazuma, it told us that the flying glowing fishes that appeared in the last episode was the reason of the spiritual powers. In regard to last episode, this also tell us the beginning of the entire Tokyo Esp saga like how Rinka first got her psychic power, what motivated her to help others using his abilities, and how she encountered her ex-rival turn friend the black fist. Tokyo Esp still manage to give many interesting scene for the second episode and I am actually wanted to see how the series concluded.

Flashback to the beginning; Tokyo Esp episode 2

The third episode of Tokyo Ghoul was like a breather episode after two intense episodes. If you expected plenty of action, you might get disappointed with the episode. However, the episode will get the viewer to understand about the ghouls, who assimilate in the human society as well as their method to hide their presence in the real world. Too bad though the word “anteiku” was still not properly explained in this episode. I don't know whether it was the Ghouls' world or Ghouls' organization. The word was still a bit vague to decipher right now
Iori Yagami will be happy to have a little imouto like you

The first thing we watch was a conversation between the doctor and his patient. When the patient went out, out of the sudden someone threw him back to the doctor office. A man dressed in white suite entered the room then threatened the doctor while his wife and daughter cowering in fear in the hidden spot behind the doctor. Later on, the episode revealed that the daughter, Hinami, was a half born ghouls just like Kaneki, which means that one of her parent was a ghoul.

A good Ghoul will say "Itadakimasu" before eating ;p he's not exception
The following scene took place in the coffee shop where Toka worked. Hyde was recovered from his injury and after thanking Toka and explained about what happened, he left the place. Toka gave a warning to Kaneki that should hide discovered their secret as Ghoul, she would not hesitate to kill him on spot. In the last episode, we could see him overhearing Kaneki conversation with the old manager and it seems that he already realized about Kaneki's condition. Well, the good thing was he knew about Kaneki's dilemma and he was not afraid to him though he had to act as if nothing truly happened after last episode incident
Tokyo Ghoul; a story about black border across the screen

Another important event that I want to tell you is that there was an organization called GCC in Tokyo. The people worked there were specialized in exterminating Ghouls and they more or less capable of dealing with them even if the later had better physical power. There were two important GCC agents introduced in this episode. One was a stout and fine looking detective Amon Kotaro, whose jobs merely focused in investigating the clue regarding the Binge eater (Rize); the other was Mado, a scary old man who acted as the ghoul exterminator. Their combined power were real nightmare for ghouls that even the old manager, Mr Yoshimura asked Toka to accompany Kaneki getting his mask done as quickly as possible.
She's smiling that's a fanservice XD

The real fact was although some ghouls, for example Hinami (the daughter), did not hunt and attack human, they still need to eat human flesh. The only solution for them to get raw human meat without attacking humans was through collecting a suicide victims' body. It was truly surprised when knowing that little Hinami ate human fleshes like eating a cake. It was explained that she was a half blood ghoul so her existence was at least similar to Kaneki; yet it was obvious that a ghoul could only ate human flesh to live on so, both Toka and Mr Yoshimura more or less also ate suicide victims' bodies to stay alive.
Kaneki needs to raise a parrot for a change ^-^

I know the episode gave us so many jargons and unfamiliar words that could confuse us. However, I still consider the episode as a decent episode as it gave further detail of the ghoul society. Kaneki was more or less started to accept his newfound condition and with the way the episode started to explain some of the term used in this episode, sooner or later we might know about the origin of the ghouls. I hope the next episode bring more entertainment and excitement than this one.

Here are some jargons appeared in this episode that I could explain to you from watching

Anteiku : the words is still too vague but from the explanation. From mr Yoshimura's explanation, Anteiku provided food for Ghoul who did not hunt for people. In the other hand, Mr Uta, the mask artist said a place called anteiku
Box carrier: Toka refer the box to Mado's case of weapon. So it is likely she refer to Mado
Doves: Doves was the term used by ghoul to call the GCC inspectors such as Amon and Mado
Ward 20: the district where the event of the anime took place or the area of Kaneki and his friend lives.
Mask : The ghoul who lived in the human society need the mask to stay hidden from GCC inspectors. The mask appearance was like a normal mask although how the ghoul wore them was still unexplained as most ghouls in this series did not seems to wear one

You can't stay alive without eating human; a sad fact of Tokyo Ghoul episode 3

Tokyo Esp is another Kadokawa shoten animation that focus in the war between the terrorist group of evil Esp user (human with supernatural power) against normal human with the help of good Esp users. I was hesitated about deciding to review the series due to the high amount of action oriented animes from this season. I had to decide which one of the following titles I should review next:  Akame ga Kill, Sword Art On line, Argovallen, and Tokyo ESP, I pick this anime since the amount of badassery was overwhelming even in one episode. Seriously, you had a chick with katanas that could disappear and reappear anytime, A scarred yet handsome main villain who could create illusion and made the soldiers killed each other, and so many ESP users with different kind of superhuman powers.
I bet someone will cosplay this in the real world ^o^

The first episode was already turned Tokyo into a war zone with the terrorist Esp hijacked parliament house by making it floating in the sky. Not long after the announcement of the hijacking, we see the Esp users literally obliterated the parliaments guards. The short haired girl with two katanas killed many guard using her teleport ability, making them unable to see her until she reappeared and sliced them. The boss is even cooler since he did not even lift a finger to kill the remaining guards. He just create his imaginary self and let the guards shot each others. With the power of their supernatural power, the villanous Esp had no trouble to take control of the parliament house. It turned worse as the Esper accomplishes create major explosions around Tokyo, which made the normal civilians cower in despair. This was the first time the civilian mentioned about “ the white girl”.  She was an Esper who helped many people before and her appearance might save the day. In short, She was like the symbol of humanity last hope.
Shinkuu

Hadoken!!

After destroying the special operation unit's plane that about to anchor to the floating parliament house, the short haired lady battle a special operator member called agents 77. As he was about to lose the battle, another agents, 55, rammed her motorcycle to the lady. Together they tried to take her down but failed even after agent 77 shot the motorcycle and create large explosion near the Lady, which later we knew as Minami. She teleport away from both agents when the Esp leader called her mentioning that the “white girl” would come to them later.
Humanity even have badass special agents to deal with Espers
In another part of the city, Ayumu and Murasaki talked about their friend Rinka. It seems both of them are also Esp users and the Rinka that they had a conversation before is the rumored “white haired girl”. Just as they talked one of the evil esper accomplishes, drove the truck to a little girl. Ayumu saved the girl but the lady esper threatened to detonate the truck along with the little girl mother. The evil lady created a barrier that stopped both Ayumu and Murasaki to help the mother. At the crucial moment, another Esp girl came and punch the barrier using her Esp  power that turn her fist into a giant green Fist (whoa). I thought so many characters have their special talents and the war between the good and the bad Esp have just began.

Ouch! even more character with a gigantic fist
Forgive for my yapping of Tokyo Esp first episode. As I said before, I was wondering about whether or not I will follow the story. However, the actions from the first episode truly blow my expectation. Tokyo Esp definitely owned it air time and it could fill many scenes in a single 24 minutes. It hit harder by each minute and even the last scene when the white girl do the super drop Kick to the opposing esp user was awesome. As if a main character suddenly entered the scene using grandiose entrance. Wow, I am at lost of word now and with the fun that I have after watching this episode, many ideas keep popping inside my head, making it easier for me to write the review. At least I knew what I will watch for the next week and I hope next episode will be even better ^-^d (thumbs up).

Everyone kick ass, Tokyo the home of badassery; Tokyo Esp first episode

Finally I could rest easy as Haikyuu!! is back to business. I was worried with the series due to last week episode, which I felt lacking in term of originality and excitement. Rest assured; this episode made it up with the less melodramatic humor (even Daichi mentioned it to us :p) and off course it had a good match during the last five minutes of the episode.
Well Nishina learnt great lesson today. Reality sux XD
First of all, Haikyuu already got it second opening and I do like the animation. I really like the raven's flying animation as it depicted the team revival. In the series, Karasuno lost its reputation because of their losing streaks in the past. Yet, with the new duo, Hinata and Kageyama, the team would once again become a flying Raven, a raven which the “small giant” took to the National. Along with the catchy tunes from Sukima Switch and the 3D animations effect while the team makes an offensive move, I said this opening manages to pump my spirit to watch the series again

The new opening is awesome!! they had great animation for a sport anime
In some senses, the episode did not try to make some haste with the match. At the beginning of the episode, we were given the atmosphere of the preliminary teams. The producer want to display how the preparation of the match,  how the team performed warming-up before the match, how the atmosphere of the tournaments, and some information regarding their next opponent. I can't say the events are good but at least they did not try to add many exaggerated jokes that last week offered.

Wait until you see their reaction ^-^
Some funny scenes revolved around Nishina in this episode. While he was one of the nicest person in the team but his Big build made him the jokes reference in this episode. Maybe due to his menacing appearance, he got bad gossip pointed at him. Though usually done positive actions, people always made bad gossip to him and his reaction was amazing. The funniest moment was when the Dateko player intimidated him by pointing his index fingers to him. Although in visual department he might look tough, his heart was softer than I would imagine XD. He almost fainted due to the intimidation. Even better, the rival opponent, Tokonomi, mentioned about his age and the words stabbed him in the heart make him more comical.

His face was priceless XD LMAO
The best part is the last part of the episode because it's the main point of the episode; the revival of Karasuno High. Even the music really entertained me before the match. It as if the real battle for the raven revival was about to begin. Without taking any chances, the Karasuno Players started to obliterate Tokonomi point by point. Starting from Tanaka's attack and Nishina's smash; Karasuno already led the game by two points. Then, Hinata adds the gap by performing his usual trick, run, evade and jump smash, to made the opponent shocked.

Time to go super saiyan... wait Tanaka has no hair?? he needs a wig@-@
I would not say that this episode was the best episode so far. However, the series have gone to a better direction. I think this episode wants to tell us that we should never judge anyone only from outer appearance. For example, when Hinata first came to the stadium, other player thought he was not special. Turn out later, he was the main attacker for Karasuno High. His role in the team was very crucial as the team's main strategy. Nishina also played as the kind of a big guy with a big heart. Although most person would think he was part of mafia gang, we knew that he was not like that at all. Last, I think the new episode will be intense and I do have high hopes for tommorow.
