It's close to the end of the first season and Lady Inglis will encounter one of her best adversaries in this episode. As a continuation to the last episode, the ship that entered the country's territory belong to the Steelblood front. The menacing Ivel shows his intention right away that he has no interest to replace the Hieral Menace but knows very well that the Steelblood will more than likely trying to assassinate him. His arrival to that place is actually to lure out the opposition and tries to catch/ kill the Steelblood members. What he doesn't know is that acknowledging his intention pretty much allows Inglis to ask for the king's permission to deal with the ambassador as he is charged with treason for making false ceremony and humiliating the king on the process. The king tries to hold back by asking her to apprehend Ivel. Maybe part of it, the king still not sure about Inglis being able to defeat the Arclord. Yet, soon he will witness directly that the pretty maid is as good as she says .
bingo! I got your number; villain!

The ambassador knows that Inglis has already building a tremendous aura with her and she is brimming with confidence, making it not possible to win against her through honest mean. Therefore, he lays an invisible magical sphere around his body hoping that Inglis will get inside the sphere and lose her body parts due to the trap's magic. Fortunately, Inglis instantly realizes his trap right away so instead of charging in, she taunts him to charge his power to a specific area. She even provoke him along saying that he may had a better winning chance; while saying that she knows all along about his devious plan. Well, Evel lose it all when he takes on Inglis' proposal and charging his enhanced mana to his arms. The last thing we know is Inglis deflects his arm using a heavily charged kick and give another roundhouse kick; sending that evil little man to the skyπŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£. I knows its another anticlimactic battle again and I'm not too surprised with the outcome lol.

she is the very person they depend on and yet πŸ˜†

Inglis asks Rani to enter the Steelblood's ship. While she reluctantly agreed to join Inglis due to sheer exhaustion after fixing the King 's arm, Inglis takes Rani in her arm (technically against her will🀣). She jumps very high (bringing Rani with her) and moves from one air gear to another until they reach the main battleship; in where the Masked man and Sistia has been waiting for the assassination plan. In the mean times, the other students of knight academia are still in their homeground; waiting for the operation. Once more, they try to feed on Mana to lady Ripple to summon another beasts. For one reason, I don't know why they tries to feed mana so much to Ripple and what they want to gain from the beasts summoning because the purpose is a bit unclear for me. A bit of comedy is mixed on this part with Yua tries to leave early because the participation is deemed voluntary and the principle instantly tries to grab her from leaving 🀣. Another character development can be seen further when Silva bows his head; asking Yua to help them. While he does bicker a lot with the girl, he acknowledges her raw power and he doesn't hesitate to lower his head to help lady Ripple; the one who save him.

Four eyes proves once again that he is actually a humble one

After waiting for some time, finally Inglis has the chance she is waiting for too long. A chance encounter with a strong individual who will bring excitement to her. It's obvious that the closest being on par to her is the leader of the SteelBlood Front; the misterious masked man. Above the Steelblood battle field, Inglis duke it out one on one against the said man and since it's close to the end of the season, the anime kinda prolong the battle than usual; making sure that more minutes and frames devoted to the action sequence. The fight turns better when they exchange blows. It turns out that the man had better mastery in Aether because he can summon a pure condensed Aether sword. Not only it's bigger than Inglis ice sword, it also has higher reach and stronger in term or raw power. Inglis is off course smarter than her looks as she can still block the heavy light aether sword with her smaller ice "pick"πŸ˜‚ and sacrifice it to push the man backward. Off course that push is not enough to put adequate damage to the man because he is not as weak as the other Inglis' previous opponents. However, their battle has to stop abruptly when Ivel suddenly comes crashing to the scene; a heavy smirk is shown in his face as if he is still capable to overturn the situation.
Join the Dark Force...u re no Luke..my Luke is not that pretty πŸ˜‚

What so funny about this is Ivel still full of confidence after getting one shooted by Inglis and he still plans to exterminate both side; either from the SteelBlood faction to the land of down kingdom (including the guards who turn their weapons to him). The masked man feels glad that he doesn't need to search for their target and asks Sistia for assistance. For the first time, we witness her turns into a spear; the very idea of Hieral menace is a weapon that can turns into a being. Nevertheless, it's very ironic that the first Hieral who turns into a weapon is a rogue one, who helps a misterious man fight against their very own creators; the highlanders.

Getting kicked to the moon by Inglis might put his screw off one or twoπŸ˜‚

Back to the academia's ground, Leone is already at her limit holding the dimensional space that she makes. Fortunately, just after losing stamina and the space collapse , her brother Leon suddenly comes and helps them from the surrounding magicite beasts. It's seems that the masked man himself asks Leon directly to help them. I don't know what is his intention but for now, they (along with Leon) tries to redo giving mana to Ripple. The last part is interesting, the last summoning doesn't give away smaller beasts but a Prismer; a gigantic magicite beast which is like the one frozen in the cathedral. Inglis who sees the Prismer from above the ship just could not hide her pure excitement from seeing the Prismer turns into a reality (πŸ˜‚even if she is already in front of both Ivel and the masked man). We are going to see a big showdown very soon😲😲😲..Hold tight bros it's a jet coaster rideπŸ˜†

😲 Wow, so the newest all episode of Ningen Fushin really tries to cram so many event
into today episode because as we first glance into the opening scene, we instantly see Nick tries to stop a stepping man above a roof. I mean this episode doesn't try to build the setting and instantly goes into action; meaning there is more important things it wants to cover and it needs to do it fast. About the identity of the culprit, the anime doesn't put any plot twist; revealing Mr Galvarha; the ex-priest who tried to cure the yellow devil disease, as the one who takes the identity of the urban legend. But if he is not the stepping man, who is the real Stepping man? This episode finally explains about the confusion behind the multiple stepping man and who is actually the person behind the legend. As for now, Survivors need to take Galvarha into custody and unveil his reasoning behind the children abduction. Nick insane blow to his defense breaks the roof and put them down; inside the building, all of the other Survivor members have been waiting for their fall.

Peek A Boo

Once again the anime gives us thorough background information to every cast it given life into. This episode thoroughly tells the story from Mr. Galvarha's point of view and how he ended up trying to cure the yellow disease while using the other children as the guinea pigs. Once upon a time, he had a daughter; who is very precious to him. As she contracted the disease from one of his patients, a nasty rumor started; making his daughter marked as impure girl who gets the infectious disease through love making; one of the usual cause of how someone contracted the disease. She succumbed to the disease and died soon after leaving Mr Galvarha bitter; depressed and started to hate the town people. What starts from the feeling of losing turns into hate as he neglected his moral compass, throwing away his humanity sense and started to do experiment with the other children; making them as the medium for the Yellow Disease cure making. Zem argues with Nalgarva that no matter how hurt his depression after losing his daughter, he must remembers that the other children also have people who care about them. Abducting and killing the children for the sake of creating cure doesn't equal to the amount of grief that he has put on the victim's family.
very straightforward and predictable statement here

Out of a sudden, a beam of light pierced Nalgarhva's chest revealing another person (or demon?) clad in white armor and wearing a mask to cover his identity. I personally don't know if he is supposed to be a main villain of this anime but he does make a short work for Curran and Tiana and injures both of the ladies; leaving Zem as Nick's companion who can move. Nick suggests Zem to do union with him. Nevertheless, he is too shock with what has just happen and barely respond to his companions until someone whispers to his ear; she is Olivia. She tells Zem via telepathy that she will try to hold the enemy as long as she can...soon.

No wonder she is very strong . She is inhuman

Olivia came to the rescue!..The green haired fighting prodigy crashes into the party; and kicking the white armored man in his back; sending him flying to the wall. Olivia tells the survivors about the identity of the man as the white mask; a man with plenty of dirty works which include stealing magic tools, conducting suspicious ceremony, and most importantly becoming the arm dealer for demon worshiper. Surprisingly, it is not just a mere coincidence that she beat Kizuna during the last episode as this clumsy acrobatic reporter can match the misterious man in the duel. When the man is not looking, Zem and Nick perform union and become the last union that we haven't seen yet from their group. The white mask feels intrigued with the possession of the holy sword in the Survivor Group; while saying so he creates a red zone like cubes; which engulfing Olivia in a high density gravitational sphere; instantly putting her down.

Why does it sounds like a confession line XD

It's about time Nick and Zem fights the man using their union form. In term of strength, they may still lose against the white mask. However, they make it up with full agility; making a very fast step in the air (kinda remind me mm the certain blue blur hedgehog). Just as finally the mask catches them, he got surprised that the evolved form of Kizuna (a cross shaped blade) attack him from behind and struck the face of the white mask. The masked man doesn't die from the attack but he acknowledges that he lose against them; while running he unleashes an explosion spell; making everyone fall unconscious from the blinding light. When they awake, they found Mr. Nalgarva; who got stuck in the debris. He says to Zem that they should leave him at that place and move away from that about to crumbling palace as soon as possible. In addition, while not mentioning it, he regrets ever abducting the children due to get blinded by his hate. The episode finishes with they moves away from the collapsing building; leaving Nalgarva inside and finally revealing the real Stepping man for us. Yes, this episode biggest reveal is about Olivia. Her being the real Stepping man (or can we say stepping woman) is a bit less expected because of the existence of two "stepping men" . However, the real twist is not about her secret identity as the stepping man but because she is also another ancient holy artifact (sword) by the name of sword of prowess; just like Kizuna. Actually, the plot twist is not hard to decipher as she can also performs similar feat to Kizuna; which also including mind telepathy and Parallel, but it still provides us with a decent surprise or two

The episode instantly pitted Leon and Leone against each other. The battle; while it's quite good, does end short as the masked man reveals their intention to infiltrated the country. According to him, in the next four days, the new Highlander ambassador will come to the country; taking back the defective Hieral Menace (Ripple) with him to Highland. The Steelblood front plans to assassinate him as they know that he is rotten to the core. Lisselote asks why they reveal their plan to them; risking their plan secrecy. The Masked man says that their sole target is the ambassador's life and he mentions that the one who should be held responsible for the mess is the king; who sold their land to the Highlanders. After hearing from both Leone and Lisselote regarding to the assassination attempt, Inglis makes a suggestion for them to pose as the waitress during the ambassador's arrival party; waiting for the assassins and thwarts their mission.

Silva: ...now I am part of the fanservice too??😲

What really interesting from this episode is how it treats Silva respectfully; giving him a decent character background. His main reason for acting snoobish against the runeless is justified as he has a tragic past with them. Once during his early childhood, magicite beasts run amok and tries to take him and his friend's life. He was still young; inexperienced and had no means to protect them from the beasts. However, the runeless friend of him exchanges his lives for Silva's survival. When he is left alone and in utter despair, lady Ripple came and saves him from the beasts using her double golden guns. This episode even answers the reason why he specialized his weapon artifact to gun; which is due to his high admiration to his savior, Lady Ripple herself. I'm happy that this anime gives a reasonable reason for his hateful comment toward the runeless. In fact, he never has any ill will toward them and wants their survival as his tribute to his fallen friend. In contrast to Lisellote who happens to have a change of heart but less explanation to her behavior change, Silva's character's background makes his antagonistic tendency way more relatable and believable.

The funny thing is he suddenly has better spotlight than Lisellote and Leone

Speaking of the devil, the new Highland Ambassador (Evel) really makes a mess during his visit. His appearance is like a teenager with white hair; along with a dash of red and blue hairs which is apparent on his left and right side of the hair. Similar to the hair, his red and blue pupil is also makes a unique trait to his appearance. Unfortunately, in contrast to those cute physical appearance, he has smudge and cruel expression to boot; creating more villainous persona than a good looking lad. And just like what the masked man describes, he consider the lower land's civilians equal to lifestocks. Nevertheless, In spite of his ruthless demeanor, the king and every attendant to the party Bowes to him and let's him say anything bad about them. The fact that he is a complete jerk and acts even worse than Rahl makes Rani feels quite angry to what she witness during the party. Inglis however, enjoys her maid duty and doesn't even feels threatened to his presence at all.

Just a passing through maid....Just kidding..I am

The sudden appearance of magicite beasts turns the room into chaos but as usual Inglis makes a fast work to them; twirling and throwing them like dolls. The anime gets more serious when one of the SteelBlood Front assassin; disguised as a guard tries to take his life using a sword. As Inglis stops his assassination attempt and holds the man , Evel put his hand in front the assailant face; executing the guy using his mana. King Carlias lower himself in front of Evel; seeking forgiveness for the threat that may cost the ambassador 's live. Yet, the villainous Evel doesn't take long to take advantages and use the moment to handicap the king by cutting his left arm using similar techniques. The guards; angry to what he does to their king, raise their weapon against him. Nevertheless king Carlias knows that in order to save the other from highlander's wrath, once again has to bow to Evel and forbids his guards to lay a hand to their guest. It's starting to get interesting when Inglis and Rani finally steps up to make differences. First, the king needs quick treatment so Inglis asks Rani to heal his hand and attaches the arms back using her new artifact.

I AM the GOD KiNG you lowly peasant!πŸ˜†

Now we get to the good part πŸ˜†. The part when Inglis superiority makes the bad guys looks so helpless that he turns them into a sad NPC. As the ambassador ask anyone to be the arm replacement to the king, Inglis confidently volunteer herself as the replacement. Evel who wants nothing short than replacing Inglis' confidence into a crying mess just can't hide his frustration when his best techniques barely scratches Inglis. To make it funnier, his enchanted mana can only makes a small torn to Inglis left side dress (the part which Evel wants to cut Inglis arm with his mana) and she just explains to him how it may become better if he trains his mana more. Once again the episode closes with a cliffhanger as a machine comes down from the sky and Evel reveals that the highlanders has no interest with giving new Hieral Menace; telling them that soon their country will disappear from the maps. Off course; with the season about to end we will see more surprise down the line and I enjoys this episode's turn of event.

Without realizing it, Fushin Ningen enters it's ten episode; marking the closer end of the first season for the adventurer. In term of character building this anime has abundant of character story more than the action part. For instance, Zem's trauma against little children especially the girl one gets further explored on this episode. The episode even starts with his poor condition; laying inside the jail still unable to believe that his good deeds put him into jail. Despite the trauma though, his experience with his peer somehow started to heal his wound as he will shows on the following scene. The next thing we know, Reina mother is introduced to the survivor and she is a veteran adventurers by the name of Ada. Nick pretty much recognizes her for she is quite well known adventurer and his work in his previous guild makes him recognizes other famous adventurer's name . She thanks the party members for saving Reina but she also gives them a warning to stop chasing after the steeping man. Knowing that with their current abilities, they hold no candles against him/her. This is the very moment when the little girl introduces her "master" to her mom; which Vem misunderstood that she takes a liking to him. Well, he admits about his weaknesses in front of them as being scared against little girl due to his previous experiences. However, Zem's word of letting her become his student after fifteen years past actually shows that nowadays he has recovered a lot from that traumatic experience; willingly admits that he opens up for new relationship (albeit she must not be an underage πŸ˜‚). Of course Ada dislike his word as being a single mother, she has to act not only as a team mom but also a team dad; ready to chew on any possible suitors πŸ˜†.
Poor owner got to pay additional damage fee πŸ˜†

Despite Ada's request to the Survivors to let go of the case, the team decides to continue the man-hunting since the stepping man has abduct little children and the worse part of it their corpses were thrown to the Garbage Collectors. The idea of having minorities as a victim (not to mention that they are underage) is quite daring for an establishment. More anime would try to avoid casualties from minors (children) and even the some of the dark and edgier themed anime prefer to sacrifice mature civilians instead of the minor ones. Nevertheless, Fushin ningen delivers it and changes it's tone darker than usual.
I don't want a son that OLD 🀧

The survivors discusses about the stepping man that they have encountered before and in order to catch him/ her, they must be able to move agile and stay close to the man while using magic to counter his techniques. One interesting note is none of them are actually qualified to do the jobs. Nick for example; while he is the one most suited in fast, close combat quarters, he has very low proficiency in magic. Meanwhile Tiana and Zem has enough magical talents but unable to moves fast and get closer to the target. Curran??Let's forget about herπŸ˜† since technically she has no magical talents at all (expect for that fiery fire-breathing techniques that she naturally inherited πŸ˜†). Thankfully Ada gives them a fighting chance by personally training Nick to have chances against that mysterious figure. The first thing she do is giving him a food which can stimulate his magical talents. After that, a long training of jumping in one clothesline; repeated in succession has been done in order to make Nick's body lighter. It tooks a few tries until he fully mastered the agile movement and be able to move from one clothesline to another with ease.
Nick learning class 104 : Flying without wing

Well, once again the anime caught me off guard by revealing that Olivia is not the "bad" stepping man. She is indeed known as a Stepping man but the persona that she makes is just a form of adoration to the legendary figure. Therefore, when Nick interrogates her during previous episode, a big misunderstanding happens between them. She may take the mask, yet she knows nothing about the children abduction. Complete with her own misunderstanding that Nick may be the other stepping man, she decides to flee the bar; which only makes the situation more complicated. Nick is the first person who realizes that the Stepping man they encounter during the first half of the episode is not Olivia. While s/he wears a complete mask; making his/her face completely vague, she doesn't budge or hesitate when Nick calls Olivia's name; proving that someone else done the mask.

Nick Mentor is very much NPC. Less detailed and forgettable : D

Olivia herself actually proves to be a strong adventurer and one one occasion, she manages to replicate Kizuna parallel move and beat him using after-image punch. I never knew that she is on par if not better with Kizuna and there is no sign that she is an sentient being like Kizuna either yet. After talking it out, they decided to visit garbage collector to check on the body of the newly deceased to young girl. They tries to look at the body but cant find any injuries until they check the back of the body finding out a red colored sand in her back. Just as they takes it out, the injuries in her left hand can be seen and for after a brief eye checking, it's revealed that she receives a yellow devil disease treatment. Zem somehow knows the culprit and say how regrettable it is.. Somehow I know that the only culprit left available is Mr Nalgarva. Nevertheless, after seeing how unpredictable this anime can get, I'm not going to jump right into a conclusion first and prefer to wait and see for the next few more hours episode to come.

What the F**k!! is the first thing I say πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ This anime can be so hilarious at times making our expectations ruined in an instant with a very anti-climatic kick leading to the supposedly great battle into dust πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£.To make it clearer; from the end of last episode, we got a gigantic Wolfie magicite beast landing to the academia's room; ready to make havoc in the academia. What we thought it would be a dramatic battle end in an instant when our cute gramp charged her aether into her left leg and kick that motherfather up to the moon πŸŒ™ 🀣🀣🀣🀣. Just as it falls back to the ground, Yua; who just happens to walks through the scene splits the beast into half using her chop; automatically eliminating the threat. It's so ironic, makes us want to get angry yet at the same time makes us burst into laughter for turning our hope into nothingness.

Inspired by the last shooting

There is another boob-gags comedy in this episode too; while actually it doesn't need one to make a good laugh. For instance, Yua doesn't take interest in dueling Inglis, yet she still open that possibility with the requirement that's seems impossible for her to fulfill. How in the hell she wants a secret of having a bigger "asset" as her payment for battling Inglis. For a reason, her requirement is way out of logic but one possible reason is she may only wants to tease Inglis by giving her a false hope; knowing that breast size is not something you can change right away just by asking someone else lol. To make it funnier, Inglis asks an equally dumbfounded Leone about how to make someone breast bigger. I'm not very fond of this kind of joke actually as it is a bit nonsensical with Yua only wants a bigger breast to stand out in the crowd; meanwhile she can just slap a magicite beast and make a bigger impact to her peer's adoration

Does this means a war about to break out? it's a prelude to more serious scenario

This episode straightforwardly gives Silva his redemption arc. Up front, he seems like a stout man disliking his less talented peers. However, just like Lisellote before, Silva still care enough for his juniors. He has a sense of responsibility to protect them when dangers are approaching. While this anime doesn't show how he fight the beast, it still pictures him covered in bruises; sustaining heavy injuries after protecting Lahti from the magicite beast's attack. It reminds me of my last writing about two of the possible routes he may take and it seems that he takes the redemption route. One possible reason for his change in character might be Rani's word from the previous episode. she tells him about the importance of having a Hieral Menace as a companion as he also  posseses a special rune (which means he is just like her brother Raphael, who will work closely to the Hieral Menace) and how he should be the one who could sympathize with Ripple's emotion after realizing her world turns upside down. Rani ; who has just receiving a special bow artifact from Theodore, uses it's healing talent to treat Silva's wound and like usual, Inglis shows her superiority again by tranferring some of her Godly powered Aether to amplify Rani's healing ..Viola, his bruises are gone and he is back as new; such is the power of the God kingπŸ˜‚
Does big boobs equal big brain?  aw come on πŸ˜‚

While the current episode is a bit lacking in term of entertainment value, it has a good cliffhanger nearing to the end as finally the Steelblood fronts make their move. While on patrol duty, Lisellote and Leone encounter wild magicite beast. They tries to fight the beast until a electrical lion pounces the beast and Leone realizes that it is her brother's special skill. Therefore, after following that summoned electrical lion, they meet with Leon; Leone's brother as well as the fugitive, and Sistia; the rogue Hieral Menace. Along with them, the myterious masked man also makes his appearance. What really makes it interesting is that it seems they have already infiltrated the academia for some time. Another interesting plot reveal from this anime is the masked man's real identity. Is it possible that his real identity is actually someone from the secondary casts? What if his real identity is none other than Theodore or Prince Wayne. That will make a very good twist in the end hahaha.

Finally the group is back together again after from two weeks ago both Zem and Curran takes a complete hiatus. The episode starts with a rumor of a stepping man; an inhuman which likes to abduct little children at the night and it's story is covered by a specific third rate magazine "Lemuria". This episode will finally introduces us to the green haired girl with glasses from the opening animation; who has yet to appear in person. Olivia Taylor is a journalist for the Lemuria magazine and she is practically the one who writes about stepping man. Apart from her journalist works, she is also an official adventurer and by the look of her unpredictable, and a bit clumsy acrobatic movement, it's save to say that her class is a hybrid between monk and martial artists. The story about the stepping man and why it has a connection to the survivor is because during his spare time, Kizuna loves reading about the local inhuman story. And somehow Olivia overheard their arguments about stepping man storytelling credibility; inciting further conversation between them; making her getting acquainted with them.
Kizuna be like: Stop u inhuman!... meanwhile

Somehow the story links to that rumored inhuman because Zem incidentally witnesses a little girl being snatches in front of him. Here the audiences witnesses how Kizuna can presence Zem's being in danger even if they were not nearby. As he and Nick search for him, they finally saw him hugging a little girl trying to protect her from a semi transparent person. Yes; The rumoured inhuman is neither a ghost nor a demon like what the magazine said; but someone wearing an invincible cloak. Using his doppelganger technique, Kizuna tries to confuse and catch the perpetrator. To his surprise, s/he knows well how to use a chain and can do acrobatic movement leading the culprit leaving from that scene

I thought he would be like The Dark Knight "sigh"

The little girl that Vem saves from the inhuman's clutches introduces herself as Reina. She claims that she is hunting for that stepping man; whose hurts her mother before, making the poor lady undergoes medications in the hospital. In addition, She also asks Zem to let her becoming his disciple. However, the party knows that Zem had an unfortunate incident in the past because of a certain little girl who can't accept his rejection. Therefore, they were trying to "protect" him instead by rejecting her idea.  Zem calmly replies that he may accept her assistance after 15 years or so; showing that he is actually trying to cope with his traumatic past. Ok..so after witnessing a mysterious person trying to kidnap little children at night, the Survivor decides to make a man hunting and turn it into a job. prompting them to visit a certain bar in where a group of bounty hunters normally make their living.
The more this man talks, the more charge he gets 🀣

The Survivors is already known among the bounty hunter as a legit adventurer party. However, they are still newbie in the world of man hunting. Therefore, the bartender only gives them an easier target as a test if they are up for a bigger hunting. They were given task to apprehend a man names Hale Hardy in Garbage collection; technically he lives in a slum where petty criminals and drug users roaming free. The stench of that place; just as Curran says, is enough to gather maggots let's alone being hygiene. After a few skirmish with local thugs, they found the target and immediately caught him. Before leaving, an ex-priest names Nalgarva tries to stop them from taking his patient without his consent. For the first time, the word " Yellow Devil Disease" is mentioned. How the disease looks like and how it affect the patients is still a mystery as we barely see anything about it yet. So, for now we can only hope for another episode to explain the disease.  Alas it seems that both Hale Hardy and Mr Nalgarva hardly know about the stepping man. Yet, the apprehended man mentions a mysterious reporter giving free candies to little children and s/he might be one of the prime suspect. It takes no brainer that the one kidnapping the children is a reporter and s/he likes giving candies. We knows who it is even before she reappears right xD?

The plot twist can't be this convenience ..right?..Curran?

The plot twist in this episode is not too surprising considering that Olivia herself is the writer of the stepping man. The story telling is pretty much Peter Parker trying to cash in about Spiderman here. And with Lemuria being a third rate magazine, an overhyped story about scary spiritual being (which is actually a man-made Hoax) is sometimes needed to attract more readers (poor Kizuna XD). The problem here is Olivia doesn't make Stepping Man as your "friendly neighborhood Spiderman" but a problem for the community; making the street unsafe for children. She is neither innocent nor legit journalist but a clumsy con-artist trying to build "ghost story" with her being the main actress. Even worse, she doesn't stop only on scaring them but also start kidnapping them for real; making her a true lawbreaker. So, sooner or later the Survivors have to stop her; making sure that she got the punishment she deserved no matter what is her reasoning to do so. In my humble opinion, this episode is quite predictable at best and I can see a decrease of pictures quality in the animation (like from the beginning part when they meet Olivia). However, It has it own strength though; like when they are dealing with the bandit who tries to extort them. Instead of just leaving him, the anime gives a bit extra treatment to the character by picturing the reason for his wrongdoing (consuming drug to flee from reality) and how he gives them extra information about Hale; pretty much giving him a "small redemption arc". This anime treats even an extra character as a person with problem instead of just leaving him as it is. Giving us a better enclosure for even the tiniest detail.

Episode 8 of Reborn to master the blade starts with the students from the first years doing their running routine with both instructor Marquess and Lady Ripple cheering on them. It's an easy work for our cute gramps right? Well, Inglis is a different breed of student since she is actually lifting the Flygear, which works as a platform to the leaders', while she herself joins the running. She doesn't even run out off stamina doing two exercises at the same time while the other students trying to catch their breath running. In term of strength, Inglis has been unrivaled until now so It is about time that the anime introduces a character with power level minimal on par with her to create more balance. Since this is different to One Punch Man in which Saitama; while being overpowered, gives other characters chance to show their worth; giving them enough screentime to have decisive battle with the main opponent. The idea of Saitama becomes invincible and overpowered main character has been redeemed with the quality of his peers (they are all powerful on their own) whose main job is to show how crazily overpowered is their opponent until Saitama comes and obliterate him/her using his punch. In contrast to One Punch Man, Inglis' companion (Leone or Lisellote) doesn't get that kind of treatment. Sure they are a capable combatants on their own. However, they don't fight with the known enemies in a specific one and one duel like the one we normally see on OPM. Therefore, the idea of Inglis Eucus hogging all of the spotlight needs to be balanced by introducing a stronger enemies/allies for her to do battle with
She doesn't want to stand out but her action contradict everything XD

There are two more characters being introduced in this episode. The first one is, Silva; a green haired, glasses wearing, third years senior of the knight academia. His personality is that carbon copy of Lisellote when we first saw her. Yet in term of arrogance, he takes it up to the eleventh. For example, he discriminates both Inglis; as she is runeless, and Leone; being a traitor sister, and forbides them to choose an artifact. Inglis knows she doesn't need an artifact so she prefers to stay low. Normally when we see a character tends to be haughty and difficult to get along with, there is two paths available for them. It's either he is just a jerk with a heart of gold; who is acting rude but has a redeeming qualities (pretty much like Lisselote) or he is another villain in the making. However, the charismatic Silva is not the powerful individual that this episodes wants to introduce to the audiences.
Go forth my stand Rafael GO! GO! GO!

Comes a pink haired girl with her lazy eyes (along with bored attitudes and a difficulty to remember names) who is also a squire just like Inglis. Her name is Yua and she doesn't feel interested with fighting. Therefore, after hearing Silva says how Squire doesn't need to participate in choosing the artifact, she instantly wants to leave the place and continue napping. What interesting is principle Miriela instantly asks her to stay; literally begging her that the Ace from the second years students should be present in case something goes wrong. Her banter with Silva later reveals that during their earlier mock battle, she won the fight. From this point forward, we instantly know how great her potential is and we're on treat to behold her capabilities because lady Ripple lost her consciousness afterward and the magicite beasts get summoned into the academia rooms.

sleep little cute puppy

What makes Yua a very interesting character is because she is the real anti thesis of Inglis herself. For instance, Inglis looks for stronger opponent to fight with while Yua doesn't bother to fight neither for approval nor excitement. In addition, she proves as an Inglis equal in some area. In fact, even with heightened gravity, Yua can jump faster than Inglis and when she bonk one magicite beast in the head, it looks like she just gently tap it heads, yet the sheer amount of impact makes it fell crashing down to the floor. In term of power level, she is on par with Inglis as both of them kept throwing the beasts all over the place as if they are playing ping pong with the poor beasts as the balls XD. Inglis who feels very excited seeing someone else with that amount of power keeps asking her for a duel but everytime she did, Yua instantly rejected her offer; basically she just making sure that Inglis doesn't get what she wants; a perfect counter for the cute gramps' challenging attitude. After finishing the battle with the beasts, lady Ripple regains her consciousness. Unfortunately, Both Inglis and Yua uses full power when dealing with those beasts and it makes environmental damages surrounding the academia rooms
Inglis is officially Boobies number one now

For once Inglis' wish to fight strong opponent is granted. Lady Ripple tells her that she wants to taste Inglis' power first hand; which in turn makes the cute gramp very happy and enthusiastic. Before the match starts, Miriela gives an artifact for Leone to create a dimensional palace so that in the next Monsters summoning, the damage surrounding the area can be avoided. The battle between them takes place in the said dimensional area while their friends (Rani, Lisellote, Miriela, and Leone) watch the fight. Ripple mentions before that she and Silva makes a good team because as they continue fighting, it's revealed that she is also a gun wielding combatant. with a pair of golden gun on both hand, Ripple manages to keep Inglis from her reach for a while. For the first time ever Inglis summons an ice blade formed through her mana. Yes this is actually the time when Inglis finally uses sword instead of fighting bare handed. Not to mention that it is not even a real sword but an elemental sword made by pure mana which she just started to use. As Inglis gets closer to Ripple, she thought about how to strike her seemingly impregnable defence. Using Ripple's gun trajectory finally Inglis manages to send the bullet back at Ripple; making her bending backward and lose a few second of concentration. The battle is over when Inglis dashes forward and Crashes on Ripple body sending her flying into the dimensional wall.
Inglis finally about to master the blade (although it's not real sword)πŸ˜‚

As much as Inglis protest, her battle with Ripple comes to an abrupt end when the other realizing that Ripple absorbs the mana of the dimensional wall. The mystery of lady Ripple keeps losing consciousness and summons magicite beasts are finally revealed when she absorbs principle Miriela's mana. It seems that the Hieral Menace like Ripple absorbs a specific rune which is special like the one from Miriela and Rafael and when those mana are in full capacity, she lose consciousness and summons the beasts. Well, considering that she works closely with Rafael, it's obvious that she absorbs more mana than necessary; which in the end makes her kept summoning the beasts. Well the episode does finish with a big cliffhanger as Leone can't hold on the dimensional ward incantation. On the other hand, after absorbing Miriela's mana, Ripple fell unconscious once more and at that very moment a giant humanoid wolf like beasts drops and destroyed the the building. We knows there is a big battle nearby and we had to wait for a while to see it's continuation.
