The girl with the angel wing; Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire episode 6 impression

This episode starts with a breakfast routine in the academy with Inglis and Rani enjoy the "all you can eat" meals as Inglis' winning prize for staying above the platform in the previous we episode. It's ironic that Miriela tries to save budget by limiting the free meal for three persons based on Inglis' choosing; not knowing how much dishes both Rani and Inglis can devour on their own. The two characters that appear in the last episode; Lahti and Pullum, tries to start a conversation with them. Lahti in particular has taken interest for Inglis due to her powerful strength in defeating three summoned creatures during the orientation ceremony. Nearby, Lisellote has just finishing her breakfast alone while listening closely to their conversation. One thing I catches from her expression is that she feels lonely due to her upbringing and her difficulty to start a conversation.

Here is our fanservice for today episode. Time to put a click bait xD

I have personal opinion regarding Inglis that may be different from what other may think but somehow I need to point it out. Inglis as a main character is extremely powerful as she can manipulate Aether to her liking. However, up until now, what she is doing is in contrast to what she is aspired to be...mastering a sword. For example, Up till now, I never see her brandishing her blade even once. Everytime the audiences witness her fighting worthy opponent, she will gather her Aether and convert it into mana; enhancing her fighting ability. In addition, it's kind of sad that she will even use her Godly talent to speed up her run because of her "hate losing" tendency. Being a reincarnation of a wise, benevolent king, her way of showing off is actually contrasting to her principle and it's like she would rather overuse her talent rather than really become strong on her own. It makes her character lack consistency. For instance, one times she didn't want to shine alone and ask another person to back him up (so that no one knows how powerful she is). In another times, She threw three creatures from a platform in which pressed by a gravity spell. What I want to point out is with her "cheat" feature, we never show what her actual progress is. We never see her competing with her equal in a fair match. Well, in a dead or life situation like fighting giant Cyrene or another Hieral menace threat, I can fathom her reason for using Aether abilities. However, using spell just so that she can lead the race is way overboard 😂. The old king ...I mean the cute swordswoman has quite an ego and childish in demeanor as she will rather cheat than being in second place not knowing that without abusing Aether, she may not win.

I have the power of Gods inside me just like Bruce Almighty

The anime follows the story with the introduction of Marques, one of the instructor of the academy. He is that one guy who is fired up to his job and demands all of the students overcoming their limit and increasing their overall stamina. Therefore, he instantly instructs the students to follow him running to the flygear dock; which is located quite far from the academy. Inglis thought that the idea of building endurance through running seems too simple yet she is not willing to lose so after converting her Aether into mana, she dashed forward extremely fast. Soon after, she catches on Marques and Lahti; who is out of breath tries his best to catch them. Behind them, Leona and Rani also tries to catch up with them. When Lisselote passes Rani and Leona, she turns her head and see Rani's angry expression directed at her. It's obvious that Lisselote rejection toward Leona in the previous episode displeased Rani.

The reason for her kind side is because she is technically an angel

Principle Miriela gathers the students once more for another testing. She picked Inglis, Rani, Leona, Lisselote, and Pullum to choose the doors connected to a dimensional space. She explains further that inside the room, their mental will be tested. When Inglis enters the room, an image of a monster appears in front of her and as she prepares to fight, it disappears. The dimensional area creates images of her past opponents and while she has no problem taking them again, those images once again disappear in the thin air. Inglis feels that the mental test bores her so he just wants to get out as soon as possible by breaking the ceiling with her Aether. It is revealed that above her head, there are multilayered dimension with each of floor connected to the other participants. One of them is Lisselote; who is just one floor above Inglis' dimension, and when she peeks below, her gaze meets with Inglis. Lisellote tells Inglis about Rani's hate toward her but she replies that she may dislike her because of her treatment to Leona before.

I don't want to cheat but I don't want to redo either

ah my favorite part :D the honeymoon scene

It's one heartwarming episode with less comedy and not too much action. This episode focuses to Lisselote and her character’s development and her guilty feeling toward Leona. While her shifting from one ignorant character to an understanding one seems too sudden and a bit unnatural, it’s still passable due to the time constraint and a possible plot twist in the future. She comes from a high social upbringing and has people serving her in home. Yet she manages to shallow her pride; Bowes to Leona and humbly apologize for her misconduct. Leona in return accept her as friend and by the end of the episode, they are sharing their room together once more with Inglis and Rani join them afterward. In term of the mental test, Inglis' mental challenges doesn't affect her slightest as if she knows all along that they are all just illusions. Even the illusion of her successor doesn't make her shocked at all. Apart from the character's relation, there is also a brief introduction of a Flygear; a gear capable of loading two or three persons and has an built in mechanism to fly. The gears are solely made as a way to deal with a flying magicite beast. I don't know if the Flygear will be an important plot device in the future episode or it is only made to slow down the episode tempo and fill the time slot.
