Episode Summaries
Continuing
last episode, the new-found chemistry between Hinata and Kageyama proved
effective in scoring the points. They could score more than kei’s team and win the second match. The major turn point made kei’s team lost their
confidence and even with the change of Kei’s attitudes from being more laid
back into serious mode, they still could not win the last match.
Following
the match, the senior talked about their current team position. Daichi admitted
that Hinata’s raw speed and reflexes would be essential for the team if
combined with the precise toss of Kageyama. In short, they were covering each
other weaknesses and turn them into strengths. Daichi predicted that using the
new team members’ abilities the Karasuno High might become the major player in Volleyball
high school tournament again.
Hinata Panzerfaust Mark II
After
the match Hinata wanted to shake Kei’s hand and he said that although he doesn’t
like his demeanor, he still considered Kei as his team members. Reluctantly, Kei answered
that it was Hinata and Kageyama confrontations made the first problem with the club
(started with the teacher wig)
Wearing jacket have become too mainstream lately
Without
further ado, both Hinata and Kageyama turned their volleyball application to
the captain. Finally, Daichi asked shimizu, the team manager, to hand them the
volleyball club’s jacket. Hinata happily wore the jacket and then the official
team of the Karasuno High Volleyball club is on and ready to enter the
Volleyball tournament.
Mogu Mogu Mogu Mogu
Suddenly
the volleyball club adviser, Takeda Ikketsu, came to the court telling the team
member that he managed to secure a practice match with Aoba Josai, one of the
top four of high school volleyball teams. The senior asked Takeda why they
agreed to do the practice match with Karasuno and then he explained that they agreed
as long as Kageyama played as the setter in the entire match. It turned out that the Aoba Josai volleyball team was the former teammates of Kageyama in
Kitagawa Daiichi and they wanted to embarrass him.
Hinata made sugawara proud with his dedication ^-^
While
Tanaka disagreed with the condition since Sugawara was the official setter in
Karasuno High, it was Sugawara himself who wanted to test how effective the new
freshmen abilities. During after-school break Kageyama told Sugawara that he
too would try to earn the trust of his new teammates.
Oh noo!! Tanaka wet his pant and Hinata Died we're screwed
In the
next meeting, the team decided to use Hinata as the decoy to put the enemy
concentration away. At the beginning Hinata felt disappointed that he only worth
as a decoy. However, after the other team members told how important his roles
in securing victories. Hinata become extremely nervous. Too nervous in fact
that he could not even slept the day before the real match begins.
Episode Impression
I
have to admit that Haikyu!! was entertaining for me because of it simplicity.
It does not need too many complicated plot to begin with. This episode follows
the standard formula of the strength of the team and how 2 persons with
different strengths could achieve victory if they put their differences away. Hinata's team defeated Kei's team despite of Daichi experiences because both Hinata and Kageyama could find the harmony and with the help of Tanaka, the other team could not guess Hinata's team movement
The
crucial moment from this episode was when the team finally formed and both the
protagonists officially accepted as the new team members. It depicted how their
hard work for training all the times finally paid of with the crowning moment
of their new Karasuno High Volleyball team jacket. Also, in this episode, they
reunited as one big team and put away any grudge that they got in the previous
episodes especially with kei and the protagonists
The
episode also gives the information about the players’ roles and how each member
contributes in the game. Also the episode gives insight of the school life
genres by focusing more in the character interactions in and outside the school
rather than the volleyball match.
In
the next episode, we are expecting how badly Hinata’s nervousness effecting the
teams condition. Would he overcome the confidence crisis or does he need the
support from the others member?
